Julian looked at Samantha when she blurted out her own reaction to the half angel student coming to the school. He had his own suspicions, but he couldn’t be one hundred percent sure on it. Still, he spoke, “Lucifer’s brothers, Gabriel and Michael, are probably sending in their own after all of the commotion in hell. Despite it all, Lucifer knows when he has to tell the ones up top about issues. The cages is one of them.” He sighed, “But that’s just my guess.” When she said her day was boring he chuckled a little, and when she brought up wanting help he nodded. “I won’t leave you high and dry. I have no issues helping administer the test. I’ve already got DuPage setting up something for those who can’t take the tests. Before the Arch Mage forgot. I know DeAndro is his assistant, but you know between you, Chambliss, DuPage, and myself, we’re damn near his advisors.” He was glad when they sat in Aren’s office and she informed him no one gave him trouble. When Billie’s name came up he looked to Samantha. “Billie shouldn’t be much trouble, so long as she keeps balanced. And just, don’t allow her to bring any knives to class. She would be a very destructive little demon if she does.” He said, and he shook his head. “No actually, but Darren Flint has already earned a detention. I don’t deal with petty and he just wouldn’t stop.” When she brought up the vampire fight, he sighed. “I fear we will have a school war on our hands if these groups keep pissing each other off.” He looked down to his hands. “That fight could have been a lot worse from what I understand. Alex Sanders would not have shown Devin any mercy, probably would have tried to burn half the school down. Luckily it stayed within a group this time though. If things between vampires and demons keep escalating were going to have to worry more about just the survival tests.” He looked up to Samantha and gave a smile. “But, it’s nothing to worry about for now. I hope.” Aren arrived in a moment after he spoke last and sat at his desk with a heavy sigh. “Samantha, Julian, glad to see you both found your way here. Seeing as some new information had come to me about certain demons, I decided to announce the survival test earlier than anticipated.” He rubbed his temples and closed his eyes. “I didn’t realize that Samuel Flint had been one of the caged demons released. We need to keep a close eye on Darren because Samuel is a known follower of Azrael. We also need to watch Adrian Desmond, something Lucifer said to me about him struck me as off.” He said. “Yes sir… now, what about test administration? I have Reginald working on something for the students that won’t test.” Julian said, and Aren gave a relieved sigh. “Thank you, Julian. I’ll send DeAndro to help him. As for the three of us, we’ll have our hands full. I can only use so many spells to prevent cheating, and I know for a fact if we made them answer in their native languages, you would be doing a lot of the grading Julian, and I will not burden you with that. So, any suggestions at the moment? We still have a few weeks to figure this out.” He said. -- Alex hadn’t realized that he had that he had said what he had until Jo had asked about his birthday. Blaze gave Jo’s hand a gentle nudge to give her a positive answer and Alex gave a nod. “It is. I normally don’t celebrate it though. After the first hundred it gets a little old. But Billie insists on partying and rubbing it in my face that I’m old.” He chuckled a bit and rolled his eyes. Of course, there was another reason he didn’t celebrate his birthday that not even Billie knew, but he didn’t like to talk about it so it stayed in. He let his sister throw him parties every year, but he’d never admit just how much he hated making a huge deal out of it. He was glad to hear that Jo was happy with his plan and he nodded. “Billie said that when she sees Cole she’ll have mine. I guess our history class was missing a few today. Normally that doesn’t happen until at least after the first week.” He said, eating a bit more. He smiled, “Go ahead and spoil her. She deserves it. She’s always been a great companion.” Once Jo explained her issue with her class last year, he couldn’t help his laugh. “Not exactly the best way to go about it there, but had to have made for some funny arguments. And oddly enough, she had very human reactions it seems.” He shook his head a bit and gave a bit more fruit to Blaze before speaking again. “Humans, as dumb and close minded as they are, are by far the easiest creatures to coexist with. Once you get eased into it. Should have been there my first hundred years on earth. It was horrible, and as much as I may hate admitting it, it’s probably made me softer than I’d like being around humans so much, but it’s been worth it for other reasons.” He said. He looked at her book and looked it over. “What are you guys starting with?” His mind wandered a bit when he flipped through the pages of the book though, he stopped the memory from forming before it consumed him, and he gave Jo a gentle smile. He couldn’t let it happen now though. That memory was too dark to have around anyone else. -- Darren couldn’t help but smile as he poured Jackie a drink identical to his. As much as he hated seeing her with unworthy bastards on her arm, he knew that if it made her happy it was worth it. Besides he’d much rather see her smiling than scowling, though he couldn’t deny the small bit of pleasure when he saw what happened after that scowl. She had a bit of a vindictive streak, but it was always glorious. He could remember how many times he had seen it after his group had gotten stolen from him, but now it made it better with the two groups having such high tensions. He nodded at her question about his dad. “A grand time. Been too long since I’ve seen him, and for the most part we stayed in Mexico. Him being an ash demon, he enjoys the heat, can’t say I minded it too much, but the natives there are weird.” He shuddered a bit. “But what do you expect from skin walkers and shifters?” Her concern didn’t go unnoticed as he took a drink. “Gorgeous, I don’t have to worry about taking him on. Dad is in good with him, so as long as no toes get stepped on I’m fine. Not too much I can say for others seeing as though they follow two of Lucifer’s brats.” He said. He knew full well that Alex and Billie were Azrael’s children and how if they knew he was out they would keep the demons on an even tighter leash. “I appreciate your concern, But to be honest, I worry about my group. They’ll get hurt or killed if they’re not careful following two idiots.” He decided a change in topic was in order. “Tomorrow night what are you doing? After detention hours anyway. With dragon bitch being back and that douche bag Garret going to be coming back before the end of the week, I would love to get more time in with you before I have to start pulling some strings to keep off the radar for a little longer. Got something big planned and I need some more time to put it together.” -- Adrian sat in the chair and listened to Molly and smirked a bit. “It’s good to have people to hang around, so it’s not all that stupid.” He said and when she continued on he chuckled. “I don’t fully wake up easy so I just tend to kind of grunt at people. If that is bothersome tho, I can try to string words together.” She brought up cuddling and he nodded. “Okay. I can deal with cuddling. Kicking not so much.” He said. Oddly enough being around Molly for the moment was nice and it kept him from being too mad. He looked at her when she brought up showering. He had showered after gym, and he nodded. “Thanks, but I should be good til morning, I don’t know how I feel about smelling fruity. It might open up for some jokes. Unless that’s what you’re going for.” He closed his eyes a moment and felt his body heat finally even out after being as angry as he was. There was no need to take it out on her, even if she had gotten into his head to get him to do just that. However, this rage wouldn’t have been quite so fun for the and his mind was a bit all over the place. “Out of curiosity, love, are any of the merfolk gone dark side still around the school?” Of course recruiting on the outside had been much easier, but finding those easily corrupted would be a good start, and that last class would probably be the best place to gather intel. -- Fucking A Clary! Billie thought for a moment as the exchange happened. If she didn’t love Clary so much she’d have probably said something, but Clary had done nothing but be there for her, so she remained silent. That and the look that came across Clary’s face wasn’t disapproval, but it was almost as bad. Once Drake had managed to get Clary out of the room and Billie had half a mind still, she locked the door with the wave of her hand. Five more minutes would have been nice, and she nodded to him. “Oh, it gets a little excessive on my end and I don’t even room with her. At least Alex has to have a key.” She mumbled the last bit to herself more or less before she spaced out a little and then caught his question. “Huh? Yeah. I’m obviously in no condition to go anywhere.” She giggled a bit before leaning against him. “And if you would be the most awesome person ever and let me borrow some sweats, I’d forever be in your debt.” She giggled again. Even with them being interrupted, the annoyingly bright happiness from her angel half didn’t want to go away. “Drake?” she asked when he asked his question. “She couldn’t be in better hands, aside from the obvious. He’s got Sal to look after and he does a pretty good job. And, if it says anymore to his character, he’s Ez’s right hand. Her stand in now.” She answered finally remembering she had questions of her own. “Before I totally forget again, my coexistence partner…. Um… fuck… goddammit I thought I got over this whole bad with names thing.” She thought for a moment, an involuntary laugh escaping her. “Zach, right? Sounds right… anyway, off topic. Is he one I need to watch out for? He seems alright, but you know how I am… and that girl that is unfortunate enough to be paired off with fuckwad, if she’s cool, someone has got to warn her. He’s been quiet for far too long, so something is up.” She said, and she closed her eyes a moment, waiting for Logan’s answer. She knew Darren wasn’t the type to stay quiet long, and with the cages being opened, something told her that would just feed into whatever he had planned.
