Name: Austair "Aust" Beleran
Gender: Male
Age: 23
Species: Human
Appearance: Aust is a relatively lean individual with shaggy brown hair and deep green eyes. He stands at about 5 foot 10 inches, and is toned but not muscular. He has two distinct scars; one that goes across his right cheek underneath his eye, and the other along the top of his forearm. He can almost always be seen in some type of long, draping cloak with a hood.
Weapons: Two-handed Great Sword and a Light Dagger.
Magic:
Rain of Fire: Aust knows one incantation that forms several sizable fireballs that rain down onto a specific area. (About 10-foot radius)
Sword of Flames: Aust can quickly imbue flames into his great sword or dagger to deal devastating, fiery damage with each slash.
Nimble Step: Aust can magically increase his speed significantly with one quick phrase. He often uses this magical ability during combat as it is easiest for him to perform on the fly.
Personality: Aust is a quiet, ominous young man who generally stays to himself. He will not be the one to initiate many conversations or relationships, but he values a strong comrade should one come along. He is hard-working and tough as nails, but anyone who can penetrate his thick facade would be able to tell that there is a deeply rooted pain in his heart.
Bio: Austair was born to a farming family that lived on the outskirts of Telken. He was forced to work very hard from an early age on, tending to the crops and livestock with his father. However, in his free time he was always looking to pick a fight. Aust has an ever-pervading lust for battle and this has translated well into his current line of profession. Around the age of 16, he joined the ranks of his local militia and received strict training. This was something he was not too fond of, so he took the skills he had learned along with his own natural talent and became a wandering mercenary. Soon he found his way to the battlefields of the hundred year war, where he fought for the highest bidder. At the time, that happened to be the Kingdom of Midland. He fought without remorse or fear, which allowed him to take down foe after foe with ease. Things seemed to be going well until the king commissioned him and his platoon to attack Telken. Aust was mortified by the idea of fighting against him homeland and his family, and so he attempted to sneak away to warn his family to leave immediately. However, he was caught in the act and the king locked him away for treason AFTER forcing him to watch his family's brutal execution. Broken and powerless, Aust remained there until the war ended, in which he was pardoned and set free. With no money, weapons or home Aust wandered about until he found refuge with The Vanguard, where he now resides and works. As of late, Aust has vowed never to kill an innocent person for money again.
And his sword.
