Thank you. I imagine Hibiki as the curious cat who doesn't know what danger is, so she would be the type who'd play with a tiger without really knowing what she's getting herself into. Which is why she's made herself the enemy of players like Corpse Collector and Moon Rider. I understood what you meant, though unfortunately I can also tell you that outside of highschool, competition hits you hard. I didn't like the whole dog-eat-dog mentality when I tried to get a job in journalism, and you either acted as stooge for someone who'll vouch for you or you kept knocking out the competition because being "better" than them wasn't enough. Even if you just wanted to help, at best they'll take advantage of your kindness, or at worse they'll let you take a fall for something you were helping them with. I'd imagine things are even worse in Deep Ground since that actively promotes social darwinism. Which is what Hibiki is trying to fight against.
Even now, despite the crap I've gone through trying to get a job as a nurse if I see someone struggling with the stuff in my pharmacy degree I'll help them. I tell them about jobs because if I can't get it I'd rather know it went to someone else in my degree and not just some random whose done a few short courses in drugs. I like being able to help others. Cassie...she dislikes the game because...it's not what should be considered. Someone sucks at the game but does exceptionally well could not achieve what they're meant to... I don't know...Cassie is idealistic.
