Calliope took her cell phone out of her canvas backpack, almost tripping as she walked into the boat’s entrance after a girl with glorious dark brown curls. Her mother had just messaged her asking whether she made it on the ship or not. She quickly replied to her text to let her know that she was where she was supposed to be. Her parents were such worry warts and it reminded her of her high school days when they would text her every morning to make sure she was on the bus and not in a strange man’s van. She smiled at the memory. Surprisingly, she didn’t feel as homesick as she thought she would, but she figured it would only take a couple days before she started missing her family. Although she had already eaten prior to her arrival, she had already planned to check the kitchen out before her own room. She wasn’t talking to anyone in particular but she just wanted to introduce herself early in the game, even if it was a little awkward and abrupt.
