The pair of Hayate and Haas entered the cafeteria very quickly, mainly because Haas was still dragging the girl clinging onto him along. And when they entered, they saw... Literally nobody there. They arrived not only before Megan and Camryn did but also before any of the staff did. So shortly put, they couldn't even get any food even if they wanted to. "Oh, come on!" Haas cried out in frustration, almost collapsing due to the dissapointment. But all hope wasn't lost. Alongside the wall was a vending machine, right at the other end of the room. Haas' eyes lit up, seeing snacks being neatly arranged even from that distance. "All right!" he shouted in victory, running over to it. Hayate had let go after being starved and was now collapsed on the floor. Hayate who was formerly clinging onto Haas now laid on the floor and tried grab something out of her bag. Sadly it was located on her back and she couldn't quite reach it. Hayate uttered "M-My candy..." and looked like she was trying to scratch her back in her futile attempts to grab it. "Haas... Candy~" Hayate brainlessly called out to Haas, slowly crawling towards him despite the fact he ran off. "Huh?" Haas reflexively reacted to the calling of his name, whipping his head to the back to see Hayate creepily crawling towards him like a zombie. "G-Gah!" he flinched, then tried to remember what she said after his name. 'Candy'. "Don't tell me...! You've turned into a candy zombie?!" Haas looked shocked. Oh no, he'd killed a girl and now they'd come back with a craving for sweets! The boy had to reach that vending machine, and fast. "Don't worry! I'll get you your candy!" Haas made a promise and dashed towards the machine. The machine looked about ten times bigger now that he was in dire straits, positively towering over him and only grew bigger the longer he waited. The boy rummaged around his pockets for some spare change and quickly threw it into the machine, typing in two numbers. A pack of Jack Atlas themed gummy bears slowly but surely got pushed forward. It took an eternity, but eventually, Haas held it in his hands. "Don't worry! I'll rescue you," he shouted back to Hayate. Haas bolted back towards them, tearing open the pack and tossing a few of the Atlas-bears into Hayate's hands. "Eat these! Save yourself!" The boy pleaded with the candy zombie, hoping this helped. Hayate quickly took the gummy and munched on it, instantly jumping up on the her feet with starry eyes. "Candy Get! Haas, thine has completed thy quest! You level up!" Hayate called out in response to the candy, making a rather childish joke. "Shall we return to our main quest of obtaining food? Or is nobody here yet?" Hayate asked Haas while checking her bag again for more sweets and pulled out a bag of Gummy Jacks. She wondered a little bit as to why Jack has people eat his own face in gummy form, but they were tasty so it works for her. "Wait, you had candy in your inventory all along?! I wasted fifty copper!" Haas played along with the joke but let his displeasure be known at the same time. He looked around again, still seeing nobody there. "It seems nobody has logged onto the server yet, and the NPC's are still out of their cycle... We have to make do with the potions in our inventory." Haas shared with Hayate, grabbing a few Atlas-bears from the bag and tossing them into his mouth. The two ate their gummies in the same role-playing fashion, but nobody showed up once they were done. So it seemed their meal consisted of apple, lemon, strawberry and lime flavored Jack Atlas heads. "Sir Haa-" Hayate cut herself off, coughing once before continuing and changed her tone back to normal. "Before I forget to ask Haas, I've never had an Action Duel before and I was wondering; Do you wanna go for an Action Duel against me? Hayate asked, waiting for a response before continuing the act because she was honestly having a lot of fun joking around. Haas was looking like he nearly fell asleep standing up, but Hayate opened her mouth at just the right time to snap him out of that before it happened. "Eh? Action Duel? What's that again...?" Haas asked, trying to recall. He slept through each class he got on that, so remembering it was a little hard for him. But then he remembered that absolutely awful duel between Vincent and Leander, realization hitting him about as subtelly as a brick. "Oh! An Action Duel! Yeah, sure! Let's go, then!" Haas said, dashing off again and leaving Hayate in the dust until she chased after him. The both of them arrived at the arena faster than any human being should, both of them having seen the little running session as a race and thus running at inhuman speeds. It was of such epic proportions that merely describing it was a challenge. Naturally, after such a race, neither of them had much energy left. They decided to rest up for a bit by leaning against the wall of the control office. "I... *huff*, I totally won that!" Haas said, though he really didn't. They both arrived at exactly the same time, so neither was able to win. "Oh... By the way, how are we going to activate that field spell thing?" Haas asked Hayate, figuring she'd know more because it was one of her courses. Hayate looked at the machine and its various buttons "I remember reading about this. You have this menu where you select a field..." Hayate started a simple explanation while pressing buttons and found a field that reminded her of the cafeteria shenanigans with Haas. "Now how do we get someone to push the start button... I mean, I could be fast enough to beat the button but..." Hayate wondered, then randomly called out the name of a teacher she remembered: "Melchior You here!?" Hayate only remembered since it would be hard to forget that guy. Almost instantly after Hayate called his name, Melchior dropped in from above. "YYYYYOOOOUUUUU CAAAAAALLLLED?" Melchior asked, nearly shouting it. He looked at the Earth and Wind dorm students, then at where he was. "Oh. You want me to activate the field for you, right?" he asked them, but then grinned. Melchior reached inside of his suit. From the suit he pulled out a wireless microphone. "ALLLLLRIIIIIIIGHT! Under the condition I can commentate, I WILL DO ANYTHING," he excitedly said, plugging in the Microphone's chip into the speakers. Raising the thing to his mouth, he hammed it up again. "DUELISTS! TAKE YOUR STANCE IN THE FIELD!" Hayate chuckled a little at the random appearance of Melchior and instantly ran to the field, readying her Duel Disk and deck. "Haas You ready to go then?" She asked the boy standing on the other side, who slammed his deck into his Duel Disk too. "You bet I am!" He grinned excitedly. From the speakers in the arena, they could hear Melchior say the following. "Action Field - On! Quest fortress!" As soon as Melchior pronounced the field's name the Solid Vision underneath the arena started to shine brightly. The field materialized as an 8-bit styled castle heaved Hayate into the air, and a miniature town with a grassy plain surrounded Haas. A bridge connected the village with the castle's domain as a river streamed between. The castle was set in a desolate field with a few towers reaching ofr the sky, and bones of the fallen enemies lay scattered across. Carboard cutouts of people appeared within the castle, inside the river and spread across the town, all about to hold an Action Card once the field launches them. Haas grinned when he saw the field, remembering the chant needed to set it off. He just hoped Hayate would finish it. "Duelists locked in battle! Kick up the earth and soar in the skies alongside your monsters!" They both chanted, and even Melchior joined in on the fun. "ACTIOOOOOOOOON...!" "DUEL!" And when they both finished, the floating ball of shining cards in the sky shattered as Action Cards spread acros the field.
Turn 1: Haas Haas: 4000 LP, 5 cards in hand Hayate: 4000 LP, 5 cards in hand Haas looked amazed as the field materialized around the two duelists, unable to hold in his excitement. He pointed up at the castle on which Hayate was standing, boldly declaring "I'm starting first!" and running off into the town. "My turn!" Haas cried out. Instantly he saw a woman leaning out of a doorway, holding an Action card. He grabbed it, grinning when he saw what it was. "I activate the Action Spell - Fetch Quest! I'll discard my Legendary Wind-Up Key and my Wind-Up Hunter," he explained, putting those two in the graveyard. "To draw two cards!" Haas finished, swiping the top two cards off of his deck in one smooth motion. He still didn't draw what he needed, but this next card might let him. "And now I'll activate One Day of Peace! We both draw a card, but neither of us take damage until my next turn." Haas said, one of the cardboard cutouts near Hayate sliding right up next to her. They looked like an old man, clad in robes. An advisor. Both players' decks glowed, and each drew a card. "Haas starts off the duel passively, drawing three cards at the cost of three of his own! Not only that, but he also gave his opponent a card! What will he do?!" "Alright!" Haas cried out in joy, jumping in the air. "I'll set one Monster and one Set card, then pass it over to you!" he explained, then ran out of town into the open plains. Maybe there were more of those useful cards to be found over by the river... Turn 2: Hayate Haas: 4000 LP, 3 cards in hand, 1 Set Monster, 1 S/T Hayate: 4000 LP, 7 cards in hand "Here I come, Haas!" Hayate said, drawing a card. "Let's start with this... I activate Trade-In and tend my Blue-eyes to the graveyard to draw 2 cards!" Hayate declared, putting Blue-Eyes in her graveyard and drawing two cards. She started to run off, trying to look for an Action Card. She found one sticking out of the wall and grabbed it. "I set 2 facedown cards and summon Mirage Dragon!" Hayate said placing 2 cards facedown and summoning an almost mist-like dragon in front of her. She then proceeded to declare an attack on Haas' facedown monster. "I attack your Facedown monster using Mirage Dragon! And with my Mirage dragon's effect, you cannot activate trap cards!" Hayate declared, watching her dragon attack Haas' facedown card. When it flipped up, it revealed a small toy bee getting burned in the fire and flames. Mirage Dragon: 1600 ATK 600 DEF Level 4 LIGHT Dragon Haas shielded himself from the gust that impact created, but didn't waver. "Because of Wind-Up Honeybee, I'll Special Summon my Wind-Up Soldier from my deck!" He explained the effect, and slammed down a new monster onto his disk. A toy reaching up to about Haas' ankle showed up next to him, having a large green magnet for a head and two pincers for hands. A large golden key stuck out of its back. The little thing looked ready for battle. Wind-Up Soldier: 1800 ATK 1200 DEF Level 4 EARTH Warrior "Splendid! Hayate managed to gain a quick monster lead, but Haas quickly turned it around by bringing out a monster of his own! What will you do, Hayate?!" "Hmm... i guess i'll use this action card before i end my turn... Action card! Reward! I gain 500 Lifepoints!" Hayate declared before ending her turn. The same advisor from before slid up to her again, this time holding a bag of gold. It sprang open and showered Hayate with little golden sparkles, rejuvinating her. "This is the power of Action Cards! Hayate recovered her life by 500 right off the bat, putting her at 4500 and in the lead even further!" Hayate LP: 4000 > 4500 Turn 3: Haas Haas: 4000 LP, 4 cards in hand, 1 Monster, 1 S/T Hayate: 4500 LP, 4 cards in hand, 1 Monster, 2 S/T "My turn, Draw!" Haas drew his card while running and stopped in front of the river. Inside the river he saw an old man cutout being dragged away by the current. "Don't worry, mister! I'll save you!" Haas said and jumped into the streaming current, diving in for a good few seconds. He re-appeared behind the old man and put his arms underneath their shoulders. Haas swimmed to the other end of the river, dragging out the cutout. It seemed to be holding an Action Card. "Thanks!" he told the inanimate object, picking up said card. It was... very familiar, to say the least. "I activate the Action Spell, Fetch Quest!" Haas held the card up to Hayate, then put both his Weights & Zenmaisures and Zenmailfunction into the graveyard to draw two more cards. He then started to run forward again, though a little slower since his clothes were soaking wet and dragging him down. "I'll summon the Tuner monster, Re-Cover from my hand!" Haas said, a little book getting thrown out of one of the windows of the castle; Haas caught it, but not for long. The book grew arms and legs, then jumped out of Haas' arms. Re-Cover: 700 ATK 300 DEF Level 1 EARTH Psychic Tuner The boy grinned. He'd done this once before, Synchro summoning. And now he'll do it again! "I'll tune my Level 1 Re-Cover to my Level 4 Wind-Up Soldier!" Haas shouted, the two monsters glowing. But they only did that, glowing. After a few seconds of this, Haas fell to the floor in shock. "W-What! I said, I'll tune my Level 1 Re-Cover to my Level 4 Wind-Up Soldier!!!" the boy tried to order his monsters again, but it didn't work. The levels didn't match up to his only Synchro monster. "Why... Why won't it work?" the boy asked, confused. "Uhm... is it maybe that you don't have a level 5 synchro?" Hayate asked in response to his confusion. "Hayate is right! You can not Synchro Summon unless you have monsters that equal the level of your Synchro monster, but Haas has no level five Synchro monster!" Haas blinked once. Then twice. Then a few more times. After a bit more of this, he finally shouted "WAIT, THAT'S RIGHT! I DON'T!" This realization caused Haas to fall onto his back.. Again. Well, that was silly of him. Now he'd have to deal with it... "A-Alright then, no worries! I'll just activate the effect of my Wind-Up Soldier! I'll raise both its level and its Attack points!" Haas said, the key on Wind-Up Soldier's back turning. The toy grew larger in size and electricity startet to crackle in between the two ends of it's magnet head. Wind-Up Soldier: Level 4 > 5 Wind-Up Soldier: 1800 ATK > 2100 ATK "Alright, Battle Phase! Wind-Up Soldier, destroy Mirage Dragon!" Haas ordered his little toy, who responded in kind by jumping up and starting to scale the wall of the castle. "Well it wont do anything yet but i acitvate Castle of Dragon Souls" Hayate declared, a castle with dragons flying around it sprouting from the ground next to the castle Hayate was standing on. "Amazing! Castle of Dragon Souls is a card that lets you banish one Dragon type monster to give another 700 Attack... But what is this?! It seems like Hayate has not activated her card's effect!" Hayate activated a trap card, but Soldier still pushed through. It painfully climbed up the walls and eventually reached the peak where Mirage Dragon was waiting. Soldier grabbed the mystic dragon by the neck and then pulled it in closer. Then it released it, wrapped both arms around and hugged it to death. Mirage Dragon exploded in pixels in a rather tight embrace. Hayate LP: 4500 > 4000 "Hold on... Trap card activate! Damage Condenser!" Hayate said activating her trap, "I can special summon a monster with Atttack equal or less than the damage I took! With this, I Special Summon Maiden with Eyes of Blue in Attack position!" Hayate said when a silver haired woman showed up with blue eyes and clad in a brown dress. Maiden with Eyes of Blue: 0 ATK 0 DEF Level 1 LIGHT Spellcaster Tuner "This won't stop me Re-Cover, attack Maiden with Eyes of Blue!" Haas ordered his book, who juggled a little ball of magic in its hand. It then tossed that magic ball towards the fair maiden standing over there. Hayate instantly shouted before the attack would connect "Maiden's Monster effect activates! Once per turn, if she is attacked, she can negate the attack and switch her Battle Position to Defense mode! Then, she summons Blue-eyes White Dragon from my Deck, Hand or GRAVEYARD!" Hayate declared when the mighty White Dragon appeared in front of the young black haired girl whom jokingly took off her ribbon and shouted "BEHOLD MY STRONGEST COMPANION, FOOLISH HERO!" Hayate tried to say menacingly but still came out rather cute as her voice is still too high to sound dangerous or menacing. Blue-Eyes White Dragon: 3000 ATK 2500 DEF Level 8 LIGHT Dragon "Whoooaa! Hayate managed to summon her Ace monster, the 3000 Attack Blue-Eyes White Dragon, just like that! Will Haas be able to overcome this overwhelming force?!" Haas looked a little shocked she managed to pull that one out so quickly but didn't waver. "I'll do this! Trap card, open! Attention!" Haas put two fingers in his mouth and whistled. Every monster on the field except for Blue-Eyes White Dragon lined up and saluted Haas. "Is this disobedience?! No way! Blue-Eyes WHite Dragon, you are dismissed!" Haas told the dragon, who shattered in the midst of a sudden explosion. "Ah... there goes my strongest companion. Well done, hero..." Hayate commented in a rather unsurprised manner. "Somehow Haas managed to beat it! But he's not out of the woods yet as Maiden was still on the field, and as long as she was, Hayate's dragon can keep reviving. Haas is put into a tricky spot because of this!" Haas knew that what Melchior was saying was right, but he couldn't do much about it now. "I'll... Set two cards, and end my turn!" Haas told Hayate. Things were looking tricky now... He'd have to find another Action Card! Haas ran into the castle Hayate was standing on and both Re-Cover and Wind-Up Soldier followed him inside. The latter climbed down the castle walls again first, obviously. "At this moment, Wind-Up Soldier's effect ends and his Attack and Level return to normal." Wind-Up Soldier: Level 5 > 4 Wind-Up Soldier: 2100 ATK > 1800 ATK Turn 4: Hayate Haas: 4000 LP, 1 card in hand, 2 Monsters, 2 S/T Hayate: 4000 LP, 5 cards in hand, 1 Monster, 1 S/T "This is not bad but could've been better... Draw!" Hayate said drawing her card while running and conducting her turn to join Haas "I summon Divine Dragon apo... THIS ONE! Then I Activate its effect... Once per turn, I can discard a card to bring a dragon type monster from the graveyard back to my hand. With this I select my Blue-Eyes White Dragon!" Hayate said revealing Soul Exchange and putting it in the graveyard. She grabbed Blue-eyes once again, then catching up to Haas and looking for another action card when she did and grabbed one seemingly in front of her feet. "I switch maiden back to Attack Position and end my turn." Divine Dragon Apocralyph: 1000 ATK 1500 DEF Level 4 DARK Dragon Turn 5: Haas Haas: 4000 LP, 2 cards in hand, 2 Monsters, 2 S/T Hayate: 4000 LP, 4 cards in hand, 2 Monsters, 1 S/T Haas waved at Hayate who entered the huge opening hall, and he quickly took a look around the room. He didn't find anything just yet, so he simply started his turn without moving. "My turn! Draw!" Haas shouted, putting his next card into his hand. This wasn't going to help him... He took anther look around the room, then saw an Action Card again. It laid neatly atop a table, almost too easy not to miss. "This is mine!" he said, but when he picked it up he was in for quite a shock. The castle started to rumble and the card exploded in Haas' hand, who looked just a little scared. He didn't know he'd picked up the Action Trap - Villainous Scheme. Haas' deck glowed ominously, so he drew the top card of his deck. Then, a thief cutout slid up next to Haas and grabbed two cards out of his hand before running away. "H-Hey!" he shouted to the thief, but he was already gone. This sucks, now he only had a single card left... "Argh...! I'll summon my Wind-Up Juggler!" Haas continued anyway, not caring any longer. A green toy bouncing around using a spring entered the room from the same door Haas did. She was using her psychic powers to let five transparent balls with little cogs in them float in the air. Wind-Up Juggler: 1700 ATK 1000 DEF Level 4 WIND Psychic "Re-Cover! Attack Maiden with Eyes of Blue!" Haas told his little book, who did as ordered and launched another ball of magic at the pale-skinned woman. "Again Maiden! summon blue-eyes!" Hayate ordered and Special Summoned Blue-Eyes from her hand. The colossal dragon barely fit inside the room. "There is no room here. We're leaving Blue-Eyes!" Hayate said, hopping on to the dragon and breaking out of the castle. They both started moving towards the village Haas came from. "Oooooh?! What's this?! Our two duelists disappeared inside the castle, but suddenly Hayate burst out with Blue-Eyes White Dragon! Not only that, but Haas is chasing her! What will you do, Haas?!" "No! This way, everyone's in danger!" Haas shouted, being left alone in the evil manor. He ran out of it, trying to catch up to Hayate. "But your mistress is now defenseless! Go on, my Soldier! Destroy Maiden with Eyes of Blue!" Haas ordered his first monster, who turned around and held off Maiden's advance. Haas didn't look back, he had to save the village! "Wind-Up Juggler! Attack Blue-Eyes White Dragon! Please, SAVE EVERYONE!" he frantically shouted, the bouncing trickster responding in kind by throwing all five of her balls at Blue-Eyes. The dragon responded by swatting them aside using it's tail, turning around for a short while to fire a devastating burst of blue energy at Juggler, obliterating her in seconds. Hayate sighed "I heard of Juggler's effect... It's going to blow up my Blue-Eyes, isn't it...?" Hayate asked, remembering the dueling magazines she read back at home. "Unfortunatily, my companion had to sacrifice her life to take down the dragon! I'l activate her effect, destroying your Blue-Eyes!" Haas explained. The five balls Juggler left began to float and circle Blue-Eyes, using her last remaining magic to cast a spell and have the dragon go down. "But... you still take the damage!" Hayate said, being forced to jump off of her dragon before it hit the ground. She was now on one end of the bridge, the grassy end, with Haas being on the desolate lands. Some of the water splashed up viciously, splashing over Haas as his lifepoints went down. Haas LP: 4000 > 2700 "Argh...! I won't let Juggler's sacrifice go to waste! With this, I end my turn!" "Haas managed to slay the dragon once more, but had to pay a heavy price! One of his companions that helped him to make it this far has fallen in battle, and he has sustained grave wounds..." Turn 7: Hayate Haas: 2700 LP, 0 cards in hand, 2 Monsters, 2 S/T Hayate: 4000 LP, 5 cards in hand, 1 Monster, 1 S/T "My turn again! I Draw!" Hayate said drawing her next card and sighed. "Another one I don't want to use... I activate Divine's effect once again and I shall discard Shining angel to add Blue-Eyes back to my hand!" Hayate declared placing Shining Angel in the graveyard and grabbing Blue-eyes from it. Divine Dragon Apocraplyph let out a mighty roar, then spewed fire from it's mouth onto the bridge. It burned down in seconds, collapsing into the water and causing a small whirlpool. Blue-Eyes' cries could be heard from in the water and in a flash, it flew straight out with a splash. It turned into a golden light, entering back into Hayate's hand. "With that, I Set one card facedown, change Divine to Defense Position and end my turn." Hayate declared while still quite enjoying herself by the fact she can actually run around instead of stay in one place. "Apocralyph took out the bridge, and now Haas can't cross! How will he get around this?!" Turn 8: Haas Haas: 2700 LP, 1 card in hand, 2 Monsters, 2 S/T Hayate: 4000 LP, 4 cards in hand, 1 Monster, 2 S/T Haas was now stuck on the villain's lair... Damnit, this wasn't good! Because of the broken bridge, it'd be too dangerous to cross from over there which meant he needed to go a bit farther. "My turn! Draw!" he shouted, looking at the card he swiped from the top of his deck. Damnit, this didn't help! He needed another Action Card. He ran alongside the river's coast and saw an Action Card floating in it, diving in once more to grab it. He was able to quickly nab it and swim to the other side, climbing out of the water with a cough. Once he saw what it was, his heart sank again. "Guh! I'll attack Apocralyph with Wind-Up Soldier!" Haas said, his little soldier running over from the castle grounds now. He'd managed to stop the maiden, but was now stuck on the other side... Or so you'd think. The soldier lept across the water in a single jump and landed atop of Divine Dragon Apocralyph, destroying it. "And now, Re-Cover! Attack her directly!" Haas ordered, once more a ball of magic being tossed at a girl. This time it was Hayate, however. "Action Spell Damage vanish the damage i take becomes 0" Hayate said and activated her Action card to clear out the ability to get another Action card. The ball of magic splashed open on a barrier that had formed in front of Hayate, so her lifepoints were safe. "Damn! I'll summon Wind-Up Honeybee and end my turn." Haas said, the same cute face from before zooming onto the battlefield. Wind-Up Honeybee: 100 ATK 300 DEF Level 1 EARTH Insect Turn 9: Hayate Haas: 2700 LP, 1 card in hand, 3 Monsters, 2 S/T Hayate: 4000 LP, 4 cards in hand, 2 S/T "This is looking bad..." Hayate said, drawing her card and looking at it. She instantly rushed to grab an Action Card from one of the cardboard people, snagging the Card and looked at it and was shocked "Oh... this aint good..." Hayate said as she drew a card and noticed that same thief that pestered haas come and take her cards too "WHY ME?! Well, that's alright I've got a trick up my sleeve." Hayate said with a smile on her face "I set a card facedown and end my turn." Hayate declared trying to make a menacing face towards Haas but sadly she only looked like she had a big smile on her face. Hayate never was good at playing a villain part. "Oh my, what's this? It looks like the villain drew their own scheme! Is this a part of their plan?!" Turn 10: Haas Haas: 2700 LP, 2 cards in hand, 3 Monsters, 2 S/T Hayate: 4000 LP, 2 cards in hand, 3 S/T "My turn, Draw!" Haas yelled, looking displeased at Hayate terrorizing his people. The card he drew didn't help either... He'd have to put a stop to this as soon as possible! "Wind-Up Soldier! Attack her lifepoints directly!" Haas commanded. The soldier responded by dashing over to Hayate, trying to strike her. "Direct attack you say? The only thing you will attack is BLUE-EYES! TRAP CARD! CALL OF THE HAUNTED! Return to me, Blue-Eyes, the immortal Dragon!" Hayate declared and a scream was heard in the distance. The dragon flew out of the village and picked up Hayate before she was struck. "Try again, Hero." Hayate said, slightly taunting. "Tch...! Wind-Up Soldier, call off your attack!" Haas ordered his soldier, who turned his head and nodded. They walked back and took place next to Haas. "Damn it... I'll attack with Wind-Up Honeybee!" Haas declared, and Honeybee was obliterated before it could even get started by one of Blue Eyes' beams. The beam charged forward at Haas, reducing his Lifepoints to 0 and ending the game. ...Or so you'd think. After the impact, Haas was still standing somehow with his 2700 LP intact. "I...! Activated the Action Spell, Damage Vanish!" He grinned, the spell card glowing right next to him. A few scratched that weren't there before now covered Haas' body, and he was looking in pretty bad shape. "With Wind-Up Honeybee's effect I can Special Summon Wind-Up Juggler from my deck!" Haas explained, the same spring-bouncing toy showing up again. Wind-Up Juggler: 1700 ATK 1000 DEF Level 4 WIND Psychic "WHAT AN AMAZING SPECTACLE! For sure you thought it was over the moment Haas declared the attack, but to think he had an Action Card up his sleeve! Both of these duelists truly show the true spirit of an Action Duel! " "I don't need to explain what happens next, do I? Wind-Up Juggler, Attack again!" Haas ordered his monster, who did as asked. The same scene as before played out, with Wind-Up Juggler getting blasted apart and her remaining magic causing the dragon to crash down. This time, though, because it was in the village, Blue-Eyes caused some collateral damage. "Before you hit my dragon I will use the effect of my Castle of Dragon Souls to increase its' attack by 700! This also increases the damage you take by 700!" Hayate declared banishing mirage dragon. It's soul exited Hayate's graveyard and flew over to Blue-Eyes, circling them and giving it a blueish glow. This last bit of strength filled Blue-Eyes with enough power to fire one last Burst Stream of Destruction, right at Haas. "Blue-Eyes breathes it's final breath, bringing Haas' Lifepoints down to a measely 700! Meanwhile, Hayate is still at a massive 4000! What will you do now, Haas?!" Haas LP: 2700 > 700 Haas huffed, feeling tired from the constant excitement. But he can't back down now. Finally, for once, he had a chance to attack with nothing getting in the way. "Go! Re-Cover! Attack her lifepoints directly!" Haas commanded, and the book charged up it's ball of magic for once. It held both of its hands next to the left side of its hip, more and more energy gathering between the palms. After a few seconds, much faster than what you'd expect, it fired a greenish beam at Hayate. The beam made contact, finally shaving her lifepoints down a peg. Hayate LP: 4000 > 3300 "With that, I set one card and end my turn!" Haas shouted, running back into town again. Both to check up on the villagers and to look for another Action Card. Turn 11: Hayate Haas: 700 LP, 0 cards in hand, 2 Monsters, 3 S/T Hayate: 3300 LP, 3 cards in hand, 2 S/T "My turn! Draw!" Hayate shouted, drawing another card and looking at it. "This card may be the end... for you! I summon The White Stone of Legend! Then, I activate Enemy Controller... I choose to take control of your Wind-Up Soldier by tributing him." Hayate declared, entering a code into a giant controller which switched Wind-Up Soldier to Hayate's side. Haas was forced to spectate his Wind-Up Soldier getting mind-controlled and couldn't bare seeing it like that. "I'm sorry, Soldier! I'll help you out as soon as I can!" Haas told his own monster, then scanned the area. He found a kid holding up and Action card and ran over to grab it. "Battle! Soldier! Attack your former ally Re-Cover!" Hayate commanded, the little toy obeying without a second thought. It ran for Re-Cover to try and tear out its pages. Haas grabbed the Action card and looked at it, clicking his tongue. "I guess there's no choice... Trap card, activate! Negate Attack!" The boy pointed to his Soldier as it rushed for him. The poor toy slammed straight into an invisible barrier, getting knocked back and landing on its butt. "Ah, again... I can't attack at all, huh..." Hayate said, searching for another Action card before ending her turn. "Haas barely hangs on, and now Soldier returns to him! Is this the comeback he's been looking for?!" Turn 12: Haas Haas: 700 LP, 2 cards in hand, 2 Monsters, 2 S/T Hayate: 3300 LP, 2 cards in hand, 2 S/T "Alright, Draw!" Haas cried out, swiping the next card from his deck. He had to smile when he saw what it was because of him seeing another one of his friends. "I'll summon WInd-Up Bat!" The boy slammed down his next car, a little toy bat with largefangs fluttering from behind Hayate and landing on his shoulder. "Battle! My monsters, attack Hayate!" Haas shouted, and all three of them rushed forward in their own way. Soldier delivered a simple gut punch, Re-Cover threw another ball of magic and Wind-Up Bat bit down on Hayate's neck. Wind-Up Bat: 300 ATK 350 DEF Level 1 WIND Machine Hayate LP: 3300 > 3000 Hayate LP: 3000 > 1200 Hayate LP: 1200 > 500 "I'll activate Wind-up Bat's effect! I'll switch it to Defense position to add my Wind-Up Hunter from the graveyard to my hand," he explained. The little bat landed back on Haas' shoulders and went to sleep, it's snores making Haas' graveyard light up. He picked up Wind-Up Hunter and then said, "Hehe... We're both at low lifepoints, huh? I think... That no matter what, this'll be the final turn! So with that, I end my turn!" "FANTASTIC! Haas managed to bring Hayate's lifepoints down from 4000 to 500 in just two turns! Is this the end for Hayate?!" Turn 13: Hayate Haas: 700 LP, 2 cards in hand, 3 Monsters, 2 S/T Hayate: 500 LP, 3 cards in hand, 2 S/T "My turn... Draw! Turn End!" Hayate quickly said looking at her card and instantly ending her turn. Turn 14: Haas Haas: 700 LP, 3 cards in hand, 3 Monsters, 2 S/T Hayate: 500 LP, 4 cards in hand, 2 S/T "My turn, then! Draw!" Haas yelled, casting a sideway glance at the card he drew. Nothing that would prolong this duel. "Errr... I feel really bad about this, actually... Anyway, I'll attack with Wind-Up Soldier and and this!" Haas shouted, Soldier responding by calmly walking over and bonking Hayate over the head, dissapointed she didn't even do anything. Hayate LP: 500 > 0 "THIS SETTLES IT! After a long anf hard fought battle, Haas managed to bring down the villainous Dragon Lord with his army of toys! But at what cost? The hero's hometown is in ruins, but surely he'll help rebuild. However, I'm proud to announce that..."
THE WINNER IS HAAS!

"Next time, can I play the hero instead? I am not good at this 'villain' thing." Hayate asked Haas, patting him on the head. Haas was getting petted on the head by Hayate as the field dissappeared around the two, kind of the reverse of what you'd expect. "Haha, sure! I kinda didn't choose it, though. The field did." He replied to Hayate, turning around once she stopped. He looked up to the control center, only to see Melchior being gone. "Huh. He's gone. I wonder where he went... I kinda liked getting the duel narrated!" Haas laughed, pretty hard too. He looked exhausted from all that effort, though. You could tell because he was sitting down on the ground, arms resting on his crossed legs. Hayate wondered where he went too when Haas mentioned that he vanished. "Yeah, I guess it's odd how he vanished, but... this was a fun duel! Maybe next time we could go buy some sweets? I mean... I'm running out." Hayate randomly asked Haas, still thinking of eating candy and snapped her fingers. "We should give each other our contact information! It's hard finding you sometimes, you know!" Has nodded when Hayate asked to go buy some sweets, replying with "It's a promise!" Hayate then asked about his contact information, which Haas had to let out a chuckle for. "Yeah, I guess it is huh? Sure, lemme just..." He didn't even bother to finish that sentence, though he did pull out a pen from the shirt under his Earth jacket and a crumpled note from his pocket. He ripped part of the note and wrote his info in it, giving it to Hayate. "Just send me yours once you've added me. For now..." Haas didn't even bother to finish that, falling flat on his back. Seconds later Hayate could hear snoring. It seems he fell asleep on the spot, just like that. "S-sure... How could he just fall asleep like that...?" Hayate wondered and proceeded to instantly think to herself: "A nap doesn''t sound too bad to me either... I have been running a lot today... And the sweets kind of ran ou-" Hayate quickly followed by flopping on the floor, falling asleep. She didn't even care that Hayato would yell at her for sleeping on the floor like that.
