Jett smiled at her, glad she wasn't too offended by his stepping in. "No problem. You make sneaking out of camp totally worth it," he laughed. He winced slightly and added, "Could you ask the bartender if she has some ice, though?"

"I cannot exactly argue with your logic." Marik shrugged in response to her description of 'petty squabbling'. "I am uncertain of how much you know about the groups, but we are basically two collections of juveniles fighting over a pitiful scrap of forest." He laughed humourously for a moment at the thought of it. "What can I say? Once you have been doing it for a while you start to form an attachment to the side of the river you choose." He examined her for a moment. "Maybe you would not understand. Your accent and attitude belong to a drifter." He frowned thoughtfully. "Was it that? European of some description?"

Ambrose shakes his head. "No worries whatsoever!" He grins at her. "If it makes you feel better, none of our Rabins are good enough to be second in command. I mean, many of us are just trying to survive, you know? No one really want to stir up the water or make things more difficult for us than they already are..." He then chuckles. "I think whenever Fabine realizes that you're second-in-command material, you'll do great!"

Li chuckled. "Sure thing, killer. I'm on it." She strolled over to the bar and talked with the bartender for a moment before returning to Jett holding an ice pack and a glass. "Here's your ice and here's a drink. I think you've earned it."

"Thanks," she sighed. Vera blinked and realized she still had no idea what the stranger's name was. "I'm Vera," she added, giving the Rabin a nod. After a moment of silence, she added hesitantly, "I know you barely know me and all, but honestly... Do you think I have any chance of becoming second-in-command?"

Aya wasn't certain what Sacha would think, but she didn't want to see Destin sad again and it seemed that the smallest thing might set him crying again. "Of course she won't mind! You know how nice Sacha is." A confident tone and smile smoothed over any hesitation she felt. "Trust me, nobody would want to stop being friends with you. Besides, she let you stay didn't she?"

Jett accepted both gratefully. "Thanks, Li." He held the ice to his eye and breathed a sigh of relief at the cool touch. He held the drink with his other hand and began taking sips periodically. He glanced around and noticed a clock on the wall indicating that they were even later than he'd predicted. "Woah, we'd better start wandering back to camp," he suggested.

Ambrose sticks his hand out to her with a grin. "Ambrose's my name." He then shrugs a bit at her question. "Hard to say. You seem fierce and ambitious enough, but I don't know Fabine well enough to tell you if that's all he expects from a second-in-command." He pauses a moment. "Have you guys ever had a second-in-command since you've been there and do you think that you're just as good as they were?"

Li followed his gaze to the clock. After noticing the time, she agreed. "That's probably a good idea. How's the eye? Are you ready to go?" She stretched for a moment, before shoving her hands in her pockets and waiting for her companion.

Jett nodded, the ice still held firmly to his eye. "Yep, I'm ready to head back." He exited the bar with Li and began walking towards the forest. "That was fun," he smiled at her. "Thanks for coming out with me."

Li grinned over at him. "No thank you. It's been forever since I've gotten to witness a bar fight." She chuckled and surveyed the dark trees around her, before directing her eyes to the ground to make sure she didn't trip over anything that could be lying there.

Jett chuckled, "Well, you didn't just witness it, you partook in it." As they walked on and into the forest, he took a precautionary glance behind him to make sure no other humans were following them. Upon seeing no one, he continued walking deeper and deeper into the trees, his eyes adjusting accordingly to the light. "So, have you had any recent skirmishes with the Broms?" he asked curiously, making conversation for their walk home.

Li shook her head. "Nah. Not recently. It's been pretty boring for me lately." She shrugged. "I guess I can't technically complain about having no one trying to stab me. I'm guessing you haven't had any run ins since you've been confined to camp?"

Jett shook his head, then chuckled a bit. "I'd probably be like a ghost to them, since all they knew is that I just disappeared one day. They probably thought I died or something." He chuckled slightly. "That'd be interesting."

Li grinned. "Ooh I know. We can throw a sheet over you and send you to haunt the Broms. That'd be marvelous." . She chuckled. She didn't know what seemed more ridiculous-the thought of Jett with a sheet thrown over his head, or the idea of him chasing around Broms in such a state.

Vera took his hand and shook it firmly with a nod. She paused and listened to him carefully. "No, we haven't had a second-in-command since I arrived," she sighed, then thought deeply for a moment.
