Would it be okay if my race has history with humans dating back to the 19th century? As in the Martian invasion as depicted in War if the Worlds did happen and latter humanity struck back as it grew intoa space power and almost exterminated my people?
A relatively small group escaped on a seed ship keeping them in stasis but the navigation got messed up and they only woke up centuries later on a planet at the edge of the galaxy. They rebuilt their civ and even advanced themselves further when realized humanity had almost conquered the whole galaxy by now.

Basically they are vengeful and jealous as hell and wish to use this chaos to further their goals.
