[@RenegadeRunaway] I especially want to know what you're planning. I actually really like the thought of having an aggressive and driven character in the game. I just want to make sure she doesn't scare everyone else off.
Thank you for bringing this up! It makes me really optimistic to see the GM so concerned with party dynamic, since I agree that it's super important. I went for the character type that I did because the other characters seemed super nice, and I figured that a more abrasive character could mix things up. Even if she can be snippy/rude, she's not actually a mean person, and I figured that the other characters are mostly tolerant enough to let it slide, and would be willing to call her out if she took too far. It's important for me to emphasize that she's not actually antisocial. What I had in mind for her character progression was her slowly becoming a bit more humble but also, more importantly, realizing that having friends and acting her age won't get in the way of her dreams. There are reasons that she thinks it's better to seem cool and like she doesn't care, rather than displaying her passionate personality to the world. As far as socialization, I pictured her as the type of character who talks about being better off on her own, and maybe even believing it herself, but tagging along with the others because "things can get dangerous out there, it'll be good for you kids (I was actually originally ask if she could be 14, so she could have that one whole year to lord over the others, but I settled for thirteen and a half) to have someone as good as me around," or something like that. Towards the start of the game, she'd probably mostly only initiate interaction to [s]criticize[/s] offer totally friendly advice, or in such a way that she plays off her interest ("What's that you're doing over there? Not that I actually care, or anything, just passing the time...") but as they became friends that would probably change. Since his character is from Pallet Town, and mine has been visiting since she was a kid, I was also thinking about asking [@Lord of Evil] about some sort of prior friendship between the two, which could also help with that. Does that make sense? I can totally change the personality if you're still unsure about her. I didn't mean to make her actually come off as a loner-type character; I've played the game of trying to help other players pull such characters into the actual RP, and it's exhausting.
