[/quote] I'm trying to offer a compromise in that the magic that caused the curse was not of demonic origin, as that already seemed not to fly with Vladimir, given the constraints of the setting. Is there really any reason to assume it couldn't have been another source? Who says it "had to be caused by demonic magic?" Unless specified elsewhere, magic is often very vague and open to interpretation, and I'm assuming it's so here. Whatever consensus I come to with the GMs, I'll have to rework my history, and I'm figuring out what can and can't work in the realm of the setting.
