[b]History:[/b] 
SLAG was part of an army envoy, originally designated for infantry support. When he got damaged on the field, though he could still function, he was effectively left for dead for years until another set of troopers came along. Thinking he was about to be scrapped for parts, he was pleasantly surprised when other parts were attached to him instead! Now that he was restored to function, he designated his repairman as his new commanding officer then served as his personal envoy and bodyguard. 
For the ballpark of 40 years he served beside that Conscript to Corporal to Captain to Colonel until he fell defending his position against raiders. With the Colonel's fall, a subroutine activated, revealing a final command Slag had no idea he had. 
"In the event of my demise, you are hereby ordered to head east to the coastline then south. As you travel, you are ordered to repair and activate every radio tower to come across. Travel until you arrive upon a radio handler of 'Red Witch' and lock in on the location, your greeting to her will be: "Radio silence is a death sentence." This was my Signature and will identify you as an ally to her. She is your new commanding officer."
