A DJ, as far as I know, is someone who you know, plays music and talks with the listeners and stuff occasionally when said music is playing.

A host is someone who lets say...hosts a show of some sort on the radio during a certain number of hours. They...just talk about stuff. Be it weather, recent events, or random stuff that has no relevance to anything. Basically, they're the annoying people who interrupt your music with a bunch of talking whenever its playing~

It's a thing, though I dunno how much of a thing it is any more since I mostly listen to satellite radio nowadays xD
