It was an extravagant day to be in the courtyard this evening. Many people, like himself, were gathered here on this special ceremony far and wide to watch the crowning of the new King of Renais, this homeland he was sought to be raised in and proud for.It wasn't a very admirable view though, since he was stationed on the east flank to guard one of the entrances, and a ways way from where all the excitement was focused on,with the difficulty of the crowd which was buzzing frankly.Just as the guards here were presumed the do,they were to stare straight ahead with their head held high-a posture required for the long term periods. They were not allowed to glance around. He could hear the trumpet's loud blare, which made Breyan force to resist himself from looking out of mere curiosity. And then the crowd would cease its noise for the time being, when he strained to listen to King Finnick's familiar voice along with a series of the long speech, according to the coronation. He stayed in tune long enough, before it was wrapped towards its end.The time would come, and it would be great glory to write to his parents how he experienced the crucial events since they couldn't come themselves afterwards when he would be off duty. ...But it was that odd light that turned everything into corruption. He could see--just out of the corner of his eyes,a blinding white that was like his life flashing before his eyes.Though,he had not a single idea what was going on since the mercenary couldn't swerve their head, even the tiniest bit.Until then, the yard suddenly erupted into a riot of stress as their was roaring with the surprised and shocked reactions of many.It was like a blur, with the sudden of hooded marauders warped into what was now a battlefield, going to pick off the soldiers who stood in their way. It took a few seconds for Breyan to realize they were intruders attacking.Instinctively,he reached for the hilt of his sword and gripped the handle, drawing the blade in one quick motion. The enemy had ambushed, and there was no reason to stand guard any longer. He was going to have to fight.
