A feisty, hot-headed girl who stuck out in her native Thailand like a sore thumb due to her distinctly rough personality. Yan is very much a free spirit who even today is unafraid to tell you exactly what she's thinking, consequences and other people's feelings be damned. She comes off as very rude but she is, in her own way, attempting to stay true to the teachings of Theravada Buddhism by removing lies and dishonesty from her life and promoting serenity and inner peace by letting go of negative emotions (usually very loudly and in someone else's face). She has had... [i]interesting[/i] conversations with Zenyatta about spirituality in the past. Topics you should avoid when talking to her include religion, politics, her family, Talon, the weather, children and small animals, non-fat Greek yogurt, and [i]for the love of god, don't say a word about her chest[/i] (especially around Mei). Her hobbies include glass-blowing, ice-skating, inventing new and creative swear words and listening to the newest Lucio singles while tuning in to D.va's livestreams. Her favorite foods are gai haw bai toey and pad thai.

[h1]Brief History[/h1]

A prodigy in the field of plasma physics who made her mark on the field at the tender age of 16. In her early days, Yan pioneered a method for plasma containment that drastically increased field stability while simultaneously decreasing the total volume needed for storage, effectively revolutionizing the field with designs for a reliable, long-term plasma battery that was both cheap and long-lasting. Unfortunately her research was quickly co-opted as a weapon by Talon which led to the creation of devastating new bombs and micro-grenades that packed the explosive power of many kilograms of TNT into a marble-sized sphere of dense plasma. Disowned by her closest relatives and ashamed of what her work had done, Yan became an Overwatch scientist and field agent to atone for her mistake, using the plasma weapons she herself had inadvertantly created as tools in the fight against injustice. It's unknown how she keeps herself looking so young, but it's believed by many that she uses clout as a former Overwatch agent to book exclusive anti-aging treatments from Dr. Angela Ziegler to keep herself looking young.

[b][u]Naraka shǒuliúdàn (Hell grenade):[/u][/b] Yan tosses up to eight micro-grenades that explode on a timer. Each grenade has a cooldown of two seconds, or a cumulative cooldown of 16 seconds.

[b][u]Plasma jet:[/u][/b] Yan overclocks her plasma skates for a quick vertical boost. 6 second cooldown.

[b][u]Field Reconfigure:[/u][/b] Yan adjusts the axis her plasmacasters fire on. No cooldown.

[b][u]Twin Plasmacasters:[/u][/b] Fires a ring of ultra-hot plasma out in front of Yan that slowly expands the further away from her it gets. 

[h1]Secondary Fire[/h1]

[b][u]Plasma Cutter:[/u][/b] Narrows the plasma current into something resembling an industrial plasma cutter. Functions like a flamethrower and a cutting tool.

[h1]Passive[/h1]

[b][u]Plasma Skates:[/u][/b] Creates a plasma current that melts the floor beneath Yan, allowing her to skate above the molten surface hydrostatically. Provides increased mobility and wall-running.

[b][u]Avīci:[/u][/b] Yan does a quick dash forward ten meters, dropping all of her current store of micro-grenades in a carpet bombing attack.
