I gained a great idea throughout the time I've spent here, and I finally managed to force myself to make it a reality. I've been thinking about a world in my head. A world not far apart from ours. Same continents, same countries, same history. Except one major factor. Everything had the help of magic. World War I was fought with fire blasts and energy bombs, World War II was fought with summoned dragons and powerful magical spells, currency is not money, but magic. Everything spans around magic. And you know what? Even you have magic!
Not everyone is gifted with magic, but those who are - get to shape their own destiny. Only one out of a hundred knows how to use magic in these times, and those who do - fight amongst each other for honor, fun or power. Defeating one of your own - a magic user not only yields you honor, and is fun, but also increases your magical abilities. A magic user is capable of casting one spell of his choice, of course, balanced by nature, and then upon killing one of his own - a magic user, gains the ability to learn one more spell, and so on, thus making fights valuable and worth the hassle. Although fighting in towns is not allowed, and is shunned by the guards, who, over the decades of serving, have learned many magical spells to aid them in maintaining peace in towns.
The type of magic one uses is predefined from birth. Although the type of spell one uses depends on one's self. There can be two Ice mages, but their spells, attributes and abilities will be much different.
So what do you guys say? Are you up for living in a world like this?\\\\\
