[@Dedonus] It's a mutual relationship I'm thinking, it's less sinister and the symbiote/parasite would feel what the host feels.

Like if the host is angry, the parasite would show its anger as well. And I'm thinking it would coat the character's skin like the symbiotes from Marvel do.

The problem is; I can't think of a reason why the character and the parasite would join together; like if it was man-made I guess the character could've been a scientist or trying to steal it for a bidder who wants it for a super-weapon. Honestly though, I would prefer if the parasite had a cosmic backstory: Like maybe these types of parasites are good and help heroes all over the galaxy by bonding with the hero. But doesn't that sound too much like the Klyntar?

Well, at least the parasite doesn't exactly have a planet. Ugh, this is hard. You know how Captain Universe powers come to a hero with a pure heart or something, that's what I'm thinking.

I'd love any suggestions for powers for this and ideas for an origin.
