[@jasonwolf] It's not all obvious modifications. With his clothes on, he just looks like a pallid, ashen-skinned, heavily scarred individual wearing bulky clothes. Sketchy looking, but not monstrous. It's when you peek under the clothes that you see the glowing orb in his chest, or the mechanical right arm, or the magical bronze riveted to his spine.

I suppose he could also be talented in some kind of illusions? Not enough to fool another mage, but enough to make the mundanes ignore him for the most part...? I'm open to suggestions.
