That's one way to look at it, and there is a case for it, but I'm more in the camp of people who say it's an analogy for an abusive relationship. Considering how fusion has always been likened to a relationship, and the fact that dialogue between the two is reminiscent of such a situation(especially from Lapis' point of view of how she missed being malachite).

Aside from that, is anyone else more interested in Lapiz's backstory after hearing about how she liked to push Jasper down and how Jasper said she was the worse of the two? What secrets is our Eli teen gem hiding from us I wonder?
