Speaking from experience as long as you learn to understand the 'soft no' which many women use because we've been (rather unfortunately) conditioned to play nice with men's feelings you'll be fine.

Us ladies don't tend to just say no outright (because of above), so it's nice when men understand our attempts to 'let someone down gently' is actually a no and not an invitation to try harder.

Ignoring the 'soft no' is what makes men creepy.
