The Story:
The Guardians of the Galaxy are lost in space. Starlord had been badly wounded and sent out a distress signal to the Avengers for any help they can provide. The Avengers are spread out across the board for various reasons with only one or two core members available. What will probably be called Avengers: Guardian Fall will be an RP where Tony Stark uses the Gemini armor to lead a team of would be Avengers to rescue the Guardians of the Galaxy from whatever foe threatens the universe and to save the life of Peter Quill. Cannons and originals welcome, as the Avengers Initiative will still be training several dozen heroes to become and one day replace the current Avengers if ever the need rises. Ironman will be a GM NPC to move things forward in the game and the enemies are still being determined.
The Cast:
The types of cannons we could use are characters with a unique power set like Vision, Cloud 9, Wonderman, Alex Power, or anybody with cosmic ties that may be on Earth or near the Milky Way Galaxy and easily enough contacted by Stark. Originals could range from the Avengers to the X-Men and anything in between. I'm hoping to have a well balanced team with power, some street level characters, and some wildcards. All heroes will be volunteering to go along with Ironman when he puts out the call. Any space themed heroes outside of Earth's orbit could be picked up on the way out in some new starship of Stark design. You can use whatever backstory you want for your heroes, they don't exactly have to be clones of a cartoon, movie, or comic counterpart.
The core Avengers are made up of Cap, Ironman, Thor, Black Widow, Hawkeye, Hulk, Vision, and Scarlet Witch and one or two of them could tag along for the adventure. The Guardians are Starlord [wounded and stranded on an unknown planet], Drax, Gamora, Shadowcat, Rocket, and Groot. Players can choose to further the plot from the Guardians end as one of the cannons [not including Starlord] if they wish.
The Setting:
The game will begin at the launch of the team's ship, we'll still be in the Milky Way Galaxy, and most of the team if not all the team will already be on board. We'll track the fading signal to lost worlds, fight new aliens, and rescue the Guardians and their leader.
I'm only gonna accept 7 or 8 Character Sheets for this since the game clearly has a beginning and end. Might get picky with CS's as the idea is to hopefully RP with some new faces. Out of the 8 spots we'll say at least half of them have to be based on cannons [you could have Nova for example and just make a new wearer for the helmet], the other half can be more original. Just keep in mind this is still very much a Marvel Universe game, especially since it's hard to find characters who haven't been on a branch of the Avengers at some point. It's also why I went ahead and added Shadowcat to the GotG to give reason for any X characters to volunteer.
