This is of course at the discretion of the ~dungeon masters~, but speaking as 50% of the reserve roster:  If there were some way to make [@Lo Pellegrino]/Faruq's ultimate fate ambiguous and leave room for him to, say, stitch himself up, swim after the party, and then collapse in exhaustion, coughing up blood, heaving down air, weeping and cursing himself for getting old before finally pulling himself together, fixing his armor and hair and then strutting around the corner shaking his head in disappointment and calling everyone else cravens -- I would be fine with that, even if it meant my own character ducking in and out as needed to ensure the numbers stay manageable.  It's the sort of thing she'd do anyway.

It's just one little gaping throat wound, he's just sleeping. :(
