[/quote]I am thinking something weird yet strangely plausible.
For example an airplane propelled by steam-powered "jet engines" which also provide energy via a dynamo charging up a battery.
The plane would maneuver via using Aetherum-coated wings/elevators and pulling levers which alters the power of the current in them.
Weirdly complicated but that's what makes it steampunk.
