Rue has always been interested in the properties of plants, so when his mother, a gardener, began teaching him how to use plants for medicine, cooking and many other things. Growing up in Ireland, it was just him and his mother, who he loved dearly. He never knew who his father was, nor did he care. He has gentle hands and a soft voice, and he usually carries a few basil leaves in his pocket and it reminds him of his mother, who died when she was throw from a horse that had been spooked by a snake in the road.[/color]
