Well I don't mind the idea then. Ren may never like Rainer back, or she might if Rainer works towards this crush. Depends. He is, her senpai at school. And if you want there could be scenes where the two of them meet at school and he talks to her. She might not talk back or might be cold to him, but he could try talking to her at school anyway. Zahira may get jealous though that he has a crush on Ren if Zahira ever found out ;3

Also the Talent Point you get from a Critical goes into the Talent you got said Critical with. You got the Critical on a roll to attack with a Melee Weapon, so the point goes into Melee Weaponry automatically. Its sort of a you learn a little more from how much beyond the normal you succeeded in your task.
