Maybe these Gorn are like the Asari. Parthenogenisis! I mean, they are lizards and that's the only animal that can impregnate itself, so it's not a hard stretch. ;D

Bend the rules for your Gorn army. MAKE THEM ALL HAVE THEIR OWN BABIES. (Especially if you'd like a lack of genetic diversity.)
