The day passed by quickly. Sarina and Liam explored a lot of the nearby Paris streets keeping close to the apartment. Liam thoroughly enjoyed the view from the tower. It was almost as if he was a little child seeing the world for the first time after being blind since birth. On one hand it made Sarina feel great that he was free, on the other hand it made her feel horrible that she had let that happen to him and that he was unable to see the world for such a long time. He could barely even stand the sunlight. If it weren't for the cloak and such his eyes would burn along with his dreadfully pale skin. By the time they got back to the apartment the sun was going down. "Sarina, what took you guys so long, I didn't expect you to wait so long to return. You know the demons come out at night mostly." Jay worriedly scolded the girl as she escorted Liam through the front door of the apartment. The girl gave a tired smile and stared at Jay for a moment. She had given Liam what he had wanted and they had a great day. What did it matter? He had hardly wanted to go inside, but the darkness made him a bit nervous and he wanted to return inside to the light and safety of the apartment. "It's okay, Jay. Really it is." "But you left your weapon behind. How would you fight if-" The girl placed her finger to his lips and laughed lightly. "It's really okay, I promise" Liam collapsed on the bed, exhausted from a day of excitement. Sarina moved to sit beside him, rubbing his back lightly until he drifted off to sleep. "Yes, rest, you've had a long day..." She raised her head slightly when she heard a familiar sound outside the window from down below. "Heh, I gotta go, Jay. Watch over him." Jay nodded slowly, watching as she took her sword from under the bed, ran and front-flipped out the several stories high window. She landed skillfully without hurting herself and slashed a demon in half on her way down. As she landed a handful of scowling, grumbling demons surrounded her. They hissed and clawed at her. "Well, seems like you all missed me quite a bit." Sarina joked before spinning rapidly and killing all that surrounded her. In the darkness she was now covered quite a bit in demon blood. Sarina lept from wall to wall until she was on top of the apartment complex. A larger demon was waiting for her there. It swung its mighty arm in her direction, she dodged instinctively. "Whoa! Haven't seen one like you in a while." Another massive arm swung at her this time faster, she barely moved out of the way in time. The beast roared, reaching out to grab her. It snatched her arm up and lifted her off the ground. "Shiiit." She tried to back flip off of the beast but it wasn't letting go. The demon gripped her arm tighter, causing the bone to snap at the joint. "Aghhh!!" Her scream echoed through the nearby buildings. Both Liam and Jay must have heard it.
