Ada "AJ" Juliette Weston

Ada was lost, to say the least. Like most in the neighborhood, she had turned to look and Mr. Grays car as she heard it coming into the drive. Her first reaction was Who the hell is this guy? Last time she checked, there was no actual 'adult' supervision on this trip. When she heard Ariels next smart remark, she was prepared to blow it off as she usually did, however, this time, her smart remark was actually quite serious. Everyone who paid the slightest attention might know something was off with Ariel, but Ada had never imagined something like this. White hot anger flashed through her, as her face hardened, her lips pursed. Before she could get a word out, the others came over in order to do the defending, but that did't change the words that came out of her mouth. "Mr. Gray, I suggest you leave us alone. Ariel tried to tell you about the trip; you didn't listen. Liz made sure of it. We'll take care of her."
Serafina 'Ariel' Gray
[sub]"Blame it on the monsters in my mind."[/sub]

Oh. My. God. This is happening. This is actually happening and I actually just said that. In the middle of the neighborhood... in broad daylight. Ariel went into panic mode, to say the least. She could feel the color leaving her face, the slight shaking in her hands. I just publicly admitted my father beat me. She did her best to take a steady breath just at the time that Theo came to stand at her side, then Jarek on the other side. It was with him that the onslaught of words began. At the mention of cops, she cut her eyes his way as if saying shut-up. Thank goodness Jarvis calmed things down a bit. And just naturally Jamie had to be the smart-ass. Then there was Liz. The girl that was like her sister, the girl that she had met in day-care for crying out loud. Yet through all the years that she wanted to tell her, she simply couldn't. Now she had to find out like this, of all ways. It made Ariels stomach hurt. Everyone was taking up for her, even quiet Alex. As she watched her fathers face change from anger, to surprise, recognition and then back again, it only made her stomach hurt worse. She felt like she was going to hurl. Shifting her gaze to her feet, she'd finally say something herself. "Guys, thanks, but um..." her voice was barely audible, close to a whisper, and then, surprisingly, her voice got stronger. Her friends were here, taking up for her. She looked her father in the eye now. Dad, look. These are my friends, the people that I care about. The people that care about me. I told you about the trip, you didn't listen. You NEVER listen, never. Not when mom was still here, not after she was gone. Not then, not now. NEVER." Her eyes were starting to tear up now. Personally she felt like a silly school girl at the moment, her emotions getting the better of herself. She never cried in public. She hated crying in general. "Trillian, I am going on this trip." Mr. Gray was taken aback. He knew of his daughters friends, but never did he imagine their responses. As Ariel spoke, his face hardened. Who on earth did she think she was. Who did they all think they were, to talk to him like they were? "Well, if you're all going to be that persistent, the I guess you just have to go. But you know how I feel about this, Serafina." Ariel turned around as quickly as she could. Fine. Great. Dandy. "You heard the man." She walk back to her car as quickly as she could. She had to simply get out of here.
