Player Name: Draken09 Character Name: Karen Anderson (No relation to pilot T. Anderson) Character Age: 33 Character Gender: Female Appearance: A plain Caucasian woman a slightly round face and straight, light-brown hair barely past her shoulders. Karen prefers to leave it out, but frequently uses a ponytail while working. She's no model, but is of a reasonably healthy weight and holds good posture without fail. Profession: Biologist; the head of monitoring and management of Eden's ecosystem (and keeping tabs on its evolution), but is sometimes brought in to R&D when the normal staff is struggling with a new virus or some lifeform is discovered. Nationality: Roslin Federation Strengths: Strong working understanding of biology as well as past experience with research on alien life (see bio). She's good at managing people who know what they're doing and generally monitoring a situation and delegating tasks. She's also extremely open to radical ideas and conceptions. Weaknesses: Very open to radical ideas and conceptions (easy to convince that something, possibly dangerous, is at least worth trying.) Very poor instructor, often confusing her student more. She knows the content, but cannot translate it well into words or diagrams, relying on technical terms to communicate with colleagues. She feels very strongly that new things, not even just species, should have at least one specimen taken for analysis, regardless of the practicality or risks involved. Personal Effects: Her Doctorates in Extraterrestrial Biology (a field thrown together after the Three Day's War, and thus a popular field that had *many* jaded post-grads quickly swap out after the first year), her journal from her year abroad back in 2213, a stuffed turtle from her childhood, and a photo of her parents. Bio: Karen Anderson was on the verge of graduating college when the Three Day War occurred. Like most people, she snatched up all the news in rapt horror about the events. Afterwards though, while most graduates thought of engineering, weaponry, and shielding, she thought of the aliens themselves. She jumped into the new Extraterrestrial Biology degree that was being thrown together by the new United Earth Council, being one of the five percent who stuck through the program. With such a lack of competition, it was easy to get a (paid!) internship researching the biological, alien vessels. Over the years, and after graduation, she obtained a full position in the research department, and became a local head of development in due course. Even now, she hypothesizes that the Destroyers are the ships themselves, but has nowhere near enough evidence or samples to come close the proving it. Still, it's in the back of her mind that alien life and, and almost certainly will, take forms completely different from that on Earth. As such, she tends to want to sample and observe everything encountered, since we don't even know what to look for. Code Word: My favorite kind of pizza. (Pineapple)
