Kenny seldom spared a glance to the black car that had dumped him on the doorstep of yet another home of poor and lost children. Same broken record every time he’d been bounced from one home to another, it’ll be different they understand and are prepared to handle your ‘condition’. He felt his everlasting grin drop of the briefest of moments at the word ‘condition’ it made him sound like a disease or disabled in some way, he was more able than most of the people handling him.

Slowly pulling his small beaten up case up the stone pavement to the orphanage door he glanced down to his hand where a strange stop watch was being nursed. Unlike other stop watches this one measured days in addition to hours, minutes and seconds; the watch currently read 13d/4h/12m/32s. He gazed fondly at the number knowing that it would probably never be any lower then it is now, this being the last stop in a long line of orphanages. Kenny never knew or even considered how close he'd been toeing that line up until now but here he was, never hurt anyone to keep score though.

"Time starts now" and just like clockwork his hand rapped against the door as the clock started a fresh.

The housekeeper was getting everyone to the gym for power development when the knock distracted her. She needed to talk to Katherin. The benefactor wanted the blind girl here. She didn't know what would happen if the girl left. Damn Leo for telling her that he had made no real bonds. She opened the door and studied the new arrival. "Come in. You can follow the others to gym for power development."

Kenny could tell this Housekeeper was very busy and probably didn't have the time to be bothered by his antics right now, his face visibly twitch as kept his playful side in check. He crossed the threshold and placed his case by the door so as it wouldn't be in the way until he had to take it to his room. Following a small group of children into a large gymnasium Kenny was able to grasp just how large this home was. The fact the housekeeper had also called this time 'Power Development' gave him the impression that the suits hadn't been talking out their asses when they said people like him.

He took a seat in the bleachers and bobbed his head along to some imaginary tune waiting for things to start.

The housekeeper lead the way to the gym. She counted the kids. She frowned when she saw that she was short. She sighed. "Alright. Who would like to go first?"

@KatherinWinter Jack raised his hand. Might as well, if that's no problem? Jack said calmly while doing everything humanly possible to hold back the urge to break, his power was like a love hate thing. He wanted to show it but didn't want to hurt the other kids. He hoped for the best.

Marisa real quick and quietly reformed from the cluster of butterflies and sat down on the bleachers, then pulled out an MP3 player,turned it on and put one earbud in her left ear. She then took her attention to the housekeeper and the one who volunteered to show off their power.

The housekeeper nodded. "Don't be afraid Jack." She encouraged him. She wanted to get a feel for his control which she couldn't do that if he panicked.

watched as Jack got ready to show his power, and she wondered what he and could do, She wondered what the other kids could do as well and if others had more than one power.

Katherin didn't go to the gym. There was no point. She couldn't see the demonstrations anyway. She needed to decide if she wanted to stay. The orphanage offered alot that she couldn't get on the streets but it was lacking the one thing she had been promised. With out that was there a point in staying?

Jack nodded right back at the housekeeper Easier said than done but sure. Jack said as he walked out to the floor. He popped his knuckles before facing everyone. I have the power to control the absence of light: Darkness. Or if you prefer the technical term. Umbrakinesis. Jack stretched out his right hand. His eyes lit up, making them a royal purple instead of their normal icy blue. In his hand formed a transparent scythe. The light seemed to die when it bounced off of it because the scythe was nearly pitch black yet perfectly visible. He then raised his other hand and snapped his fingers. His entire body became wrapped in darkness just as Black as the scythe. His eyes however remained the same glowing purple. You play with fire and you get burned, but if you play with darkness? Jack snapped his fingers a second time as the scythe disappeared, the darkness surrounding his body dispersed and dimmed the whole room as if the lights had gone out. Then that happens. Jack said as the room went back to normal. He then walked back over to phoenix.

Hopefully I didn't just scare the living daylights out of y- jack went quite as his head began to feel dizzy, he fell over and groggily sat up before looking at her again. Sorry about that...

Kenny watched with interest as the boy called Jack bent and wove shadows around his body, this was his first time seeing anyone with a power even remotely like his own. The purple in Jack's eyes intrigued Kenny as it seemed to pierce the darkness but never illuminate more than its source. While he would deny it for years to come Kenny couldn't help but yelp when the room lost all light for the briefest of moments, feeling a little more then ridiculous he covered his face with a hand and coughed as of that's all his little outburst was. Just what kind of kids where they keeping in this place?

Phoenix was amazed at what he could and when he came to stand back over where I was I said. "That was cool and no you did not scare me." and when he got dizzy and almost fell "That's fine are you ok Jake?" My power was kinda kicking in since it was a healing power, but I did not know what it could do for someone who was dizzy Phoenix has only have headed scars or physical wounds like cuts, breaks, and bad injuries.

William had raised a brow at the boy's power but he wasn't impressed or anything. He would simply get up and walk infront of everyone to go next, he stretched and everything. "Greetings everyone, all those who don't know me yet, my name is William" he states. "I'm a strange one with my power" he states "I am both machine and human at the same time" he says. "flesh and metal are the same thing for me, blood and oil, veins and cords" he states. he raises up his hand as it turns into a metallic version of itself "currently I can only turn a part of my body into a pure machine at a time, though I can turn it into any kind of machine I need... like a blow torch and other things". he would tell all of them. "I can also talk to machines and other pieces of technology, those that I know all about I can even control if I have to" he tells them.

Leo watched with mild interest as Jack went up to show his power. Umbrakinesis, the ability to control darkness itself. A power that can be used for almost anything for darkness is always there. It's a scary power, truly it is, Leo doesn't deny that but if the user knows how to control it well, then it shouldn't be much of a problem. He looked around as the room dimmed, heart racing in fear of what would happen, but light became present soon after. Jack seemed to have drained himself using his power. Interesting.

Next was William. The guy could turn any part of his body into a machine. He could also talk to machines apparently. While it isn't too flashy like Jack's, it was still useful in its own way. Should he get trapped in one place, he could use his power to easily get out. Then again, that applied to almost everyone in the room. He then leaned back and waited for the others to go on. He was pretty sure he showed everyone about his power, given that he uses it freely in the orphanage. As long as he doesn't use it for hurting anyone, the housekeeper usually didn't stop him.

Marisa watched as the first volunteer show off his umbrakinesis power. It wasnt all that impressing, but she knows that it was more than meets the eye. The only part that intrigued her was when he summoned the transparent scythe. Then william stood up and showed his power next. Him being part Machine, part human had gave him such curious powers...the power to turn machine one limb a time, and the power to comunicate with technology. It made Marisa curious as to how william can comunicate with machinery,and if he could have a conversation with her laptop.

"Does anyone else want to go today?" The housekeeped asked. She was looked around. They didnt have alot of time but she wanted to give everyone a chance.

Looking around the room Kenny saw no hands being raised or anyone making any attempt to react to the house keepers offer, did that mean he was meant to? Slowly he took a deep breath and raised his hand, as he reached the front he became very aware of his peers eyes and his hands began to shake, he'd been stared at plenty by people with way more authority than them so why wasn't he able to stay calm.

"Hey there, I'm Kenny..." Kenny's voice echoed throughout the large gymnasium "Yeah so, I'm new here and I'm a shapeshifter" he kept shifting his weight from one foot to another as he spoke. No matter how he tried he was nervous, it made so little sense it would have frustrated him had he already not been a deer in the headlights.

Realizing the deep breaths weren't helping anymore just went for it, slowly began to shrink into his clothing until they were just a pile on the floor. A lump still present in his sweater began to slowly rise and move, a small snout emerged from the base and a fox emerged. It did a lap of the fallen clothing then returned the the confines of the sweater. Soon the form grew and Kenny's head reemerged "So yeah, that's about it for me" he was feeling a little better returning to his seat.

"umm I could go next but, in order to show you I need someone with a cut, scrape or even someone with a broken or fractured bone" Phoenix said as she raised her hand. "My power revolves around healing."

"Thank you Kenny. I am sure you will get a chance to show us your ability Phoenix. For now I think I would like to head to the classroom. It's time to learn." Ms. Smith told them.
