The demon sensed her. Back in the earlier days of her career, when she was restricted to harvesting the souls of humans, she would take them without warning. But non human creatures were different. For this demon she was required to face him off and demand his soul in the name of her master before she took it. And it was hard work. So with a dead lock on the demons life force, she followed him. It didn't matter where he went, she would be able to track him down. He had changed course, and assuming he'd sensed her, she walked after him, tattered wings hanging from her shoulders and dragging on the ground ominously. "There's no escape, demon," she said in a low voice that somehow seemed to echo like a sour breeze throughout the night.
