Chris Christopher followed his companion to his different stops, chatting up shopkeepers he knew quite well. He was able to haggle with them a bit and get his horned friend some more spending money from his initial commission. Chris would mark down names and prices, then hand the shopkeepers a sort of receipt, which promised their agreed price with a little extra from the Prince himself. He didn't have access to the family treasury, but his Captain's salary and his brother really bolstered his private pocket. He could easily fund an army on the fly. The young man would smile at citizens who recognized him, greet the elderly, and occasionally help people solve disputes as he waited to move on to the next shop. "I'll treat you to dinner, my friend," he offered to his lieutenant, "We just got to get back to the castle before it gets too dark. They have to close the gates at night now," he said firmly. He could still get in through the guardhouses but he wasn't about to lead a non-human through those passages without anyone really knowing the stranger. He was still a little unsure of the young non-human. He wondered what brought such a unique individual to Conra at such a time. People could accuse him of being involved in the Dark if he wasn't careful.
