It's a good way to represent how foreign Commodore Robot's alien language is to the Enterprise crew. Also it might not even be the Dominion language just one of the other alien languages the Dominion knows and it's the closest which the Enterprise can get a barely intelligible translation for.

[/quote]Stealth in space is very much plausible in the soft sci-fi of energy shields and warp drives. My ships are likely capable of it if they try but there had been little reason to do that for a boring exploration mission.
