Rose softened a little because of Cam's tone of voice. "I'm Rose. It's nice to meet you...?" She ended that with a question, probing for the man's name. Before he could answer a kid ran into the room. She couldn't go back out there. She'd die. Everything she'd done thus far to survive would have been a waste. There were things she did to survive that she wasn't proud of, and she can only justify them if she continues to survive.

"Please let me stay, just for the night. I can pay you guys." She paused, thinking about what she would offer and then continued "Not in money, of course, money is useless now. I can give each of you a can of food, it might not seem like much, but that saves you a day of scavenging and putting your life at risk. Just give me one night, please." Rose couldn't believe she had to beg a kid younger than her, but she did so without shame. Survival was all Rose cared about, and she'd do what she can to accomplish that.
