	The Purple Hat Division is, as far as the official records were concerned, a mercenary band operating in the lawless worlds of the Galactic Core. The Purples, as they are colloquially known, are very well equipped for a mercenary band. Counting with reliable and plentiful supplies of weapons, ammunition, body armor, medical supplies, vehicles and everything else a military unit needs to operate in the chaotic but opportunity filled Core. 

	It should be noted that the Purple Hat Division is in no way affiliated with the Totalist State. They are certainly NOT A front created by the Directorate of Truth to claim deniable plausibility wherever needed. The fact that most of their contracts are from Totalist-aligned states and factions. Or that their headquarters, a hollowed-out asteroid, is located in the Askelon System, close to the People's Republic of Subaru, a nation who is pretty much run by its Totalist “advisers”. Or even that they are a major supplier of the Totalist drugs flooding this area of the Galaxy means nothing. It's just coincidence.

	The fact that General Mikla “Big Hat” Sucheng, supreme commander of the band, and several of his close lieutenants, were in fact born and raised inside Totalist borders is also an incredible coincidence. Not that the origins of Big Hat Sucheng and his cronies are a well known fact. 
	
	Speaking of Sucheng and his lackeys, the aforementioned group was in fact holding a strategic briefing in one of the utilitarian briefing rooms of the asteroid base. The subject being the incoming operation on the Myazi System. Currently under control of a pirate cartel, the Black Stars, who became too big for its breeches and is now trying to compete with the Purple Hat and its associates in the drugs and weapons black market. 

	Destroying the Black Stars would not only eliminate some of the competition facing the Purple Hat but also send a strong message to any would be opponents. Besides, clearing up and securing Myazi would make the surrounding region of space much safer. These routes, by sheer coincidence would benefit several states and factions currently aligned with the Totalist State. Likewise, the mineral riches and fertile soil present in abundance within Myazi would be a boon to whomever ended up setting up shop there after the pirates were thrown out.
