@HEISENBERG Some notes on your character. Largely, there is a mountain terrain between Rheinfeld and what is now Renalta today. I'm not sure what Brovo has in mind, but the Templar were largely involved in crusades or matters in their own lands. I do not personally believe a large effort would be made to send Templar across mountains to find a deserter as there have been deserters numerous before. From what I understand, they were not actively sought out, but that is not to say if they were stumbled upon in their wider travels, the Templar would not execute one who abandoned them. I do believe the standard procedure for any who 'betrayed the order' in the past was outright execution without a trial. In the time that your character's father was abducted, Renalta would not even be a fledgling kingdom. Any authorities dealt with during that time would likely be local governance of say... Perhaps a small city-state region at best, simply a town or small farming community at worst. The Kingdom was, at the time, long-since destroyed and it was not until literally 10 years ago that the gods were banished and the Kingdom of Renalta began to be reestablished at Kouri's hands. As far as the father of your character being imprisoned, while it does have a margin of possibility, it seems largely unlikely to me. Again, Brovo will need to be discussed with on this to compare against current lore. But, if he were still in captivity, I likely see him in the hands of the Papacy. Even with the Templar Order having some internal friction, I would not see the current leader leaving any but true criminals and madmen being kept imprisoned. He, himself, was a man who deserted the Order at one time. Notes when discussing with Brovo No. The Templar would not attempt to cross the mountains in large numbers to hunt a renegade. Maybe a small group, but no way would they send a significant force. And even then, he'd have to be suspected of some pretty heinous crimes to warrant sending a group of Templar after him. Templar who betrayed the order were dealt with in numerous manners. Dependent again mainly on severity. Besides Renaltans dislike Rheinfelders anyway. They'd go out of their way to help a refugee. Especially if that refugee knew how to fight. The father would only be imprisoned by the Papacy at this point unless he committed a serious atrocity. Basically, needing to know just what your father was involved in to warrant such an actions against him and some work to fit in with the currently established lore.
