-----------Still building------- Real Name: Jake Brodey Alias: none Age: 34 Species: human Appearance: at a staggering 5'11, 175lb Jake is a middle aged nothing of a man. He is well fit due to his police work, but he does no special exercises. He's also quit the smoker. Personality: Jake has seen the irrelevance of the human race, and most other races, and it has given him a kind of fatalism that comes out in a dry humor. He usually gets along well with others, though will light a cig just as fast as he will put a bullet in his demon possessed partners eye. Always see the bigger picture. Bio: Jake Brodey, at least people keep calling him that, was once just a normal detective in the Louisiana bayous. Rumors, hell even a book, had circulated about the strange Cthulhu cult, but they were just believed to be a ghost story told to the rookies. Jake found out all to soon how real it all was. Jake was part of a 30 man squad sent to stop a Voodoo meeting out in the swamps. Little is said about that raid. Only 5 men returned. Two were mortally wounded and died shortly after. 2 were incoherently insane, locked away to this day. Then there was Jake. Babbling about black wings and tentacles, clutching a black book and a stone idol of a hideous monster. Over the next couple weeks, Jake too was locked away. He called himself LeGrass, Carter, and hypnos. He spoke of places called Leng, Ulthar, and Sarnath. Then after 9 days he retuned to normal... Well as normal as one could be after learning the truth. Jake spent the next ten years doing research, expeditions, and battle with the things of that frightful dimension. He did not inform anyone of his secret battles, not trusting even the superheros. (Just look at iron mans reaction after Manhattan.) Jake was relaxing in front of a fire in Ulthar, petting the black kitten in his lap when it spoke to him of the invitation by Dr. Strange. Jake had become fluent in the language of the cats of earth over the years, and emphatically trusted their judgment. Even though there was not chance, and very little desire for the position, the cats felt the others should know of this side of magic, since Jake would soon be a permanent resident in the dream world if he did not stop trying to do it all himself. Primary: Necromancy Primary Spells: POWDER OF IBN-GHAZI:          The powder has the ability to make invisible things visible, including magical lines extending from places enchanted for a Calling of a Mythos deity, the aura around a Gate, and invisible creatures. Secondary: Ecocentric Secondary Spells: (2 spell limit) RED SIGN OF SHUDDE-M'ELL:           The caster paints a mystical symbol into the air with his fingers. If formed correctly, a dull, red symbol glows ominously in the air. The sign's sinister effects manifest the round after its creation. Once formed, the sign must be maintained by concentration.           All those within 20ft of the sign collapse as their bodies quake & spasm, and their internal organs & blood vessels convulse. Exocentric: Nodens Exocentric Spells: (2 spell limit - one summon spell of your entity - also list drawback (long casting time - makes you physically weak after casting it - a random kitten in the world perishes as a consequence), one low powered attribute spell that your entity blesses your character) Equipment: service revolver, hand cuffs, badge. Neckless of an Elder sign, protection from possession. Black skin bound book of unknown origin, no idea what it says, but it opens in the presence of extradimentional beings to a spell that would put them back if recited properly and without faults. Stone idol of Cthulhu
