~Viola Rifei~
[@TheHangedMan]
"Wah~ Lee, would I ever do such a thing?~" Viola leaned into Lee's hair ruffling in an almost cat like manner. The amusement in her voice was a bit concerning likely, but she wasn't planning to cause trouble. She'd never do such a thing anyways. That said, it wasn't like she wasn't capable of doing something like that, and if given the opportunity she likely most certainly would summon something...so, perhaps they had a right to worry. Not that it mattered really. If she wanted to do it, she'd do it. Besides, as a rule of thumb summoning something in your own home was generally a bad idea, especially if you were of her level. She watched Lee and Luna leave with a small smile. They had nothing to worry about, really. Viola considered them friends...or at least, entertaining and worthy of attempting to be friendly, at any rate. She turned to Meruin, who was musing silently to herself about something. Being similar to Xinhua? Perhaps, but Viola liked to think that Meruin wasn't as arrogant as the dragon. She watched, immediately curious as Meruin performed some small feats of magic. A bird of some sort - was it an illusion? If it was, it was and incredibly good one but the other mage dismissed any such thoughts. It was real, then? That was...incredibly curious. Viola found herself much more interested in Meruin then she already was. Viola smiled, giving Meruin a wide grin. "Oh my, that was certainly curious. You'll have to tell me what that was later, but for now..." Viola removed the bindings from her journal, laying it on the table in front of her. "On to business, then! To put simply, I am quite in tune with spirits of all sorts. from Elementals from the Alchemic practices, Djinn from the Middle East, to spirits of the dead...and demons." Viola spoke that last one in a somewhat hushed tone. Summoning demons was not going to go earn her any brownie points with anyone, but she would be lying if she said she didn't know the method of summoning a few. "That said, due to the silly practices of the headmaster I am somewhat lacking...I can not summon any particularly fearsome spirits yet. However, simply put if I have your aid, I can likely summon one and oversee you forming a contract with one. I'll make sure you get a fair deal of course. Gathering the materials for summoning a strong spirit would not be too difficult, and with a little of my own magic and your power we could certainly summon something quite fearsome." She paused for a moment, taking great interest in a piece of candy she pulled out of her pocket and popping it into her mouth. "Something, say, fearsome enough to make a dragon quake in her scales?~" She giggled, pushing the book towards Meruin. "My master was quite knowledgeable about a number of spirits and made this...index, of them for me to use should I have need of them once I am sufficiently strong enough to summon them without such rituals for combat purposes. You could look through them, if you wish. The contract will be temporary - it would be the best terms to use. Spirits are more agreeable when there are clearly set objectives for the contract...ahem, but-ehe, excuse me. I think I might be talking to much." Viola smiled, hand resting on the journal as she continued. "All I would want from you...is for you to get me into the Forest. You are the apprentice of an Archemage, correct? The headmaster is a fool for restricting access to such a place and stunting the students growth because of some stupidly thought danger. How is a mage supposed to get stronger without a little bit of danger, hmm?" She leaned back, sighing in some irritated and tiredness. "I've been here for a year, but because the only spirits around here are weak poltergeists and other ghosts in the graveyard, my skill is stagnating and I loathe it. Oh sure, I could go on a field trip but there would be no guarantee I'd run into a good spirit to contract, not to mention any I did run into would likely be quite old and powerful...and I would rather not attempt to outwit and bind some ancient spirit that could curse me for eternity should I fail. I do not mind a little risk involved, but such a thing is foolish. The forest here would likely at least have some decent spirits I could contract that are of a decent power, but not so great that should I accidentally offend one that the consequences would be too serious. Preferably a Sylph...I do so love those things. Gnomes are adorable too, though, hehe~" Slightly hypocritical considering what she was already planning, but she felt as though she had little choice in the matter. Of course, if Meruin accepted this deal then things might progress a bit faster. "I understand if that's a bit much though. The rules are quite strict, or so I understand." Viola continued. "But just to be clear, you don't have to try until the day of or after the summoning, or even after the duel, and if you can't then that is fine, hehe. Even this will be good practice for me to see how a more...experienced mage works." She'd have her fun with this duel regardless if she got a spirit or not if Meruin accepted this little proposal. Plus, one could learn many things simply from watching. "So, Meruin, do we have a deal?~" It was in honesty, a pretty good deal. No consequences for Meruin even if she didn't hold up her end of the bargain.
