As for Originals, yeah, you've got it right. There's just one nuance - them having all abilities means they're not super proffecient in either. (think about the difference between an otter and a dolphin in regards to swimming => time/evolution makes perfect) In the case of the remaining few though I suppose you could say they've trained a lot while on Earth. That and they're technically only Archangels if they've served the Council (it's more of a title). Then you have the Seraphs who are angels who remember past lives or were very high up the Council ladder. 

So for clarity's sake, he's never died?
