[@supertinyking] Through a red haze, Mithias realized that "food" was within arm's reach. The bag was warm, preserved. Had he not been somehow familiar with alternate ways of eating, it may have taken him longer, but he picked it up, and with as much control as he had, bit into a corner. His strength began to return, and much of the pain he had been feeling subsided, yet not all of it. No sooner had the vampire's eyes lost their redness than Martin was wisely prepared with a holy artifact, a null rod. Still held by the robot behind him, Mithias shied back from the object held before him, looking at it with grave worry. "Please, stop." He looked away from the flaming hand that pointed at him as if to find some escape. He was shaken, and confused, lost, and trying to figure out where exactly he was. The strange, new fire in his veins quelled, nearly gone in the presence of the hand's aura. "Please, I am powerless in the presence of your holy artifact. It terrifies me." Mithias leaned away, appearing troubled enough by the threat of the holy null rod, which was now in the form of Martin's right hand. Mithias closed his eyes until Martin calmed down a bit and backed off. "My name is Mithias, Varomere. I was in charge of a special operation strike force of 100 Imperial soldiers. We were to gather valuable information on Alucard and his Tyrannid forces. It was never meant to be a battle. I led us to where I had sensed the enemy, but it was a terrible mistake. Now they are all dead." Pained by this, Mithias grit his teeth. Looking down at himself, he noticed the rent in his uniform, and the curious black star that now covered his heart. He moved his one free hand to touch it cautiously, concernedly. "In death or dishonor..." He repeated, remembering the terms of his curse. Mithias didn't yet explain everything to Martin. Hell, he had no idea who or what Martin was. Was there even a chance to stop Alucard when he himself was compromised, and how was he going to... ? Then his heart leapt into his throat with sudden realization. "Do not kill me!" Mithias shouted. "Please! Whatever you do, you mustn't allow me to die, or I will transform into a mindless, unstoppable fiend!" He was dead serious. He had to try to explain somehow. "The other vampire, Alucard, I was wrong about him. He isn't who I thought he was, and he's cursed me. He is the one that cast me into that ocean where you found me, with the intent that I struggle and suffer and amuse him until I..." Mithias didn't really want to admit the next part, but he did. "He said he would take me over and use me to kill everyone. Now, if you please, you have to let me go so I can undo this. Alucard must be stopped before he destroys the world."
