The long and short of it is that he wanted to talk to her about the Numachi situation, her beloved senpais told her "yo babe this corpse-ass-lookin dude is bad news fuckin run if you see him" not knowing the connection between him and her at all, which she didn't know about either.

Thusly, she understandably bolted and we learned that Kaiki was a track star in College. Not even joking, it's in the thoughtcards.
