He seems at a glance to be an introvert and a pompous one at that if the consistent use of headphones is anything to go off of. His tone may seem condescending or demeaning behind his accent. The fact that he isn't well versed in the English language adds to this portrait bestowed upon him with people having assumed he is berating them in German. This doesn't mean he doesn't know English, just not perfect at it. He is very prideful in what he does in school as far as academics including music class so when pulls straight A's, asked about it and smiles, people may think he is judging their intelligence.
