HAH, ABYSSAL IGNIS!... sounds grandeur, right?"
Name: "I am a enigmatic wanderer that stupifies all opponents! Swoons all vixens as if they were under a hex! Inspires awe and trepidation into others! I am the grand and almighty!... wait for it..."
"LUX OF THE DIMMING NOIR!"
"... I'm sorry, what? Last name? Er, confidential?" Catalyst: "No one shall discover the source of my sorcery! I have cleverly taken many cautious efforts to ensure no one can ever garner such imposing secrets that could wrought the world with undulating horror for the next century!... or two... quite possibly three." Lux actually ended up grafting his catalyst, a purple crystal that's around the size of his fist, possibly smaller, into the middle of his chest. While the process was an extremely painful, Lux thought it would be a good idea in the long run, though the spirit he is partnered with says otherwise. Race: "Why I may look to be an ordinary human, BUT THAT'S EXACTLY WHAT I WANT YOU TO THINK, HA HA! Deceived once again by the marvelous Lux!" Just an ordinary human with a quirk for being quirky. Sex: "Why yes! Plenty of s-... wait why are you stopping m-, hold on... Oh... oh?... Oh." "Err... I am one of two amazing genders! A great, formidable male!" Age: "Age? Hah! I am an ageless being, whose immortality knows no bounds..." Lux is actually twenty-two years old... yet he still acts... peculiar. Appearance: Lux, as he calls himself stands pridefully six feet one, appears to be just an ordinary human, aside from his outstanding clothes. His hair is jet black, mostly unkempt for his own personal reasons. While his eyes are hidden behind the mask, Lux has dull olive hued eyes and his complexion is lighter on the saturation. While appearing lithe and unremarkable, his body type under the clothes seem to lean towards athleticism with a weight around one-hundred sixty-five pounds. For clothing, almost all of his attire seems to be composed of a sabled hue, save for a gray shirt underneath his vest. He has a mask donned on with a simple, but sharp design on the edges of it. The shirt he sports may make his body look a little bigger, but it's just leather underneath his attire for some defense just in case. Lux also carries a satchel with him. Unsurprisingly, it's also black. When he isn't wearing anything on his torso, there is a byzantium tinted crystal painfully embedded into his chest. It's possible to see some of the bone; burn and cut scars utilized in this process are rather fresh. Background: Lux's story begins... well, where to begin? Lets step right into the meaty parts of the tale. First off, Lux was one of the few members who encompassed a relatively new mercenary group which grew to be known as the Bizarre Trailblazers. Living up to their name, they all had strange quirks about them which society failed to accept, whether it was Lux's constant theatrical mannerisms in speech or Krem's guidance by voices which cause her to act in certain... precedents. Regardless, the dysfunctional group managed to hold steadfast; what they were seeking was unknown, but they all shared the same goal. To one day scale the Tower of Babel and discover what's at the top. Lux was around the age of fifteen during the time the group was being conceived, making him one of the youngest senior members of the group. His claim to fame was that he was formerly a part of a troupe of gypsies who wandered, entertaining guests with their mysticism, but were wiped out when they were marked as heretics. Of course, no one can assert whether or not he speaks the truth. Still, over the course of their travels, they learned new things, shared secrets, and grew into a properly function team, surprisingly. They actually managed to gain a reputation of being famous, but peculiar warriors, though they are far from being celebrities. During their journey, each of them came into contact with a spirit and formed a contract with them. At the age of seventeen, Lux actually garnered his partner from the remains of a crumbling villa in what appeared to be quite the literal ghost town. One of the few who could identify the spirits swirling about were unable to move on, always listlessly glaring at something. While feeling almost powerless to do anything, they at least attempted to erect a graveyard, which lead to Lux discovering that purple crystal. Upon grabbing it, he felt a presence in the shape of a wrapped being appear before his very eyes. Frightened, he put on a bravado which entertained the spirit. He, however saw something more in the boy and requested one thing. A contract. After a few hours of constant badgering and debating, the spirit became instilled into the group. Many groans would be heard from the faceless ghost as he traveled with each fellow. Eventually, after five more years of preparation, they believed themselves readied and confident for the challenge involving the tower. Returning back to their home country, the growing group of mercs now seek to test their skills and procuring whatever lies at the top of the tower. "Hah! Nothing shall halt our souls! Nothing shall delay our blazing glory! In the name of the Bizarre Trailblazers, I, the magnificent Lux will stake our groups name at the crest of the heavens! We shant be stopped!" Personality: Brash and loud, Lux exhuberates an air of confidence and liveliness with each passing action. He doesn't seem at all downtrodden and isn't a defeatist when put in what appears to be a hopeless situation. Instead, he sticks his guns and goes all out if he can with a bright smirk centered on his face. Along with that, his own speech can boil down to be rather... strange and can end up being somewhat annoying. It almost puts him at the height of arrogance, though the only thing preventing him from being this is the fact that he compliments his own allies with a similar prose. In reality, his quirky mannerisms with speech are utilized as a cover up for his shortcoming of not understanding how to approach another and have a proper conversation with another person. He doubts his own abilities when it comes to conversing and can display previous signs of nervousness that didn't exist before when requested to speak normally. Lux is by no means prideful to the point of it being a sin, but rather he wishes this wouldn't get in his way when conversing with others. In truth, he does enjoy the current way he talks, but only to a certain degree. Soul Partner: "Gerald the Forlorn is my partner! I could not ask for a superior spirit than he!" Skills: Grace, finesse, and caffeinated kangaroos While he does understand the function of armor, he prefers mobility over defense, relegating evasiveness as the best type of safeguard. With some personal training from the band of misfits he traveled with, he is able to swiftly and gracefully dance around an opponent, whether in a literal sense or an acrobatic sense. One with the shade, my Fell Blade strikes Another thing he learned was garnered from both his family and his newfound allies. While not the best, he certainly understands the basics of offense and defense, along with a little more info. He prefers to use this for recreation versus fighting however. EBONY MYSTICISM FROM THE DARKEST OF SABLED SHADOWS Born with an innate sense for magic, Lux had ironically been granted power over darkness!... more specifically, anything related to the shadows. He can only perform two feats with magic, but his arsenal is gradually expanding. To perform any of his magic, he needs an area of dark space. -Shadowmeld: Lux melts into the shadows, entering what he dubs as the "The Unending Black Sea." In layman's terms, it's known as the shadow realm. When he enters and exits, he looks to almost be a melting pile of black goo that is either receding or rebuilding itself. Whenever he enters into the shadow realm, he can traverse the barren land via "swimming" or "flying" in a sense. The only thing stopping him from traversing this landscape is light. If light shines on a specific area and he goes into it, that part of his body will feel a burning sensation and will be paralyzed. Depending on what part of his body, such as his foot or hand getting stuck in there will be no big deal as he can just yank it out of the illuminated area. However, if something like his head or body gets stuck in there, then he will have to wait for said light to completely vanish before moving again. To return back to the world, Lux must break past "clear" barrier which shows the real world. This barrier can be compared to water as when he shatters the area, ripples form around it. In a nutshell, it's useful for stealth and scouting missions. -Dark Forge: Using the shadows, Lux can create items, albeit slowly, making them whole enough to use. These items can range from armor to blades that the party can utilize, as well as him. The time dependent on how long he works on it will equal the durability behind the weapon or item. If he focuses on the item a little longer, then the durability will be increased tremendously. On the plus side, there is nearly no weight with this items. However, Lux can only craft items as big as him and these don't even last as long as "real items" such as a steel sword or a small leather pouch. The longest one of these items can last is a day and even then the item would have to be as large as Lux. This isn't even taking wear and tear into account too. Crafting in general can take a long time too, as for example, making a shadow blade of average quality can take about five minutes, a full set of armor taking from around twenty-five to fifty minutes. Attempting to store them in the shadow realm won't exactly do the items any justice either since they are one with the shade. They last up to one hour in the realm before dissipating and returning to where it came. The durability is slowly drained over this period of time. When destroyed, the item in general begins to melt and turn into a black glob as it ebbs back into the shadows. Seriously, out of all th' people who I contract, I end up grabbin' one outta the loony bin! Ugh... at least he is half-competent at magic..."
Name: Gerald Luzpin Species: Humanoid Appearance: Gerald is about six feet in height, around the same height as his ally, but slightly shorter than Lux by about an inch. The only thing you could configure from his weight are the black wrappings obscuring his features, but even then they wouldn't weigh much. There really isn't anything else to say, other than his semitransparent features which are difficult to discern and the black particles that emanate from him every once in a while. The only item that can't be identified on his visage is his face. How You Two Met:
During their journey, each of them came into contact with a spirit and formed a contract with them. Material Form: When transformed, Gerald takes the form of an elegant dagger. User Form: Merging with Lux, Gerald gives his partner two unique powers. One allows him to completely be unaffected by physical strikes as if he was a ghost himself (it just means attacks go right through him). However, he cannot retaliate properly since he is ethereal, making him unable to deal damage like this. The next power is simplistic, but it allows him to utilize is shadow magic with superior speed. Since he can only merge into the shadows, or create corporeal, solid items from it so far like a temporary wall, armor, or swords, it just means Lux can perform these feats faster (i.e. become one with the shadows quicker, solidify his "shadow" gear, etc.). It doesn't make these items permanent, however.
NO LONGER HERE [@Savo]
