"Eh? You're not going to kill me?" The thief asked, more to himself than Bayard as he quickly straightened up and out of his cowardly ball with a couple of fake coughs to clear his throat. "Ahem, I mean, of course you weren't going to kill me, I wasn't scared I was just- uhh- I thought I saw a bee, and I'm really allergic so..." He trailed off with another weak laugh, scratching the back of his head, until he heard that Bayard planned to 'take him' to someone. "Hey now, lets not jump the gun. My crime was minor, I don't need to be tried or something." He said, obviously getting the wrong impression. Who would want a lazy thief like Eli among their ranks? The thought didn't even occur to him. As the woman walked over, Eli cocked a brow but was startled by almost being knocked out of breath by Bayard's overly hearty pat, shooting him a slightly annoyed glare that faded before it could be seen. He listened to the conversation, eyes shooting back and forth. "Recruit? Knight?" He repeated in absolute disbelief after the words, jaw dropped slightly, but was easily ignored by the more important people discussing matters, even though it was about him. "Woah, hold on there! Who said anything about me joining the ranks of Fiore?" Eli angrily challenged, huffing with exasperation as he knocked Constantine's finger off his chest with much annoyance. "And, I don't think I'm a petty thief, I am one. Always have been. Sure, I know a few spells, but I don't have the power or the morals to be a knight. Plus, I don't exactly get along well with others..." Eli glanced to the tall man with a neutral expression, tucking his hands in the back of his jean pockets. "Sorry, guess I'm not going to make any difference in the world. Look, let me just return the stuff and we're good, right? It's not like it's all that expensive a fine, and I'm not going to be executed over this, so why the hell should I have to deal with working with a team." He paused to shudder at the repulsive thought. "I only care about money, anyways. And myself, but mostly money."
