[@Fairess] We play Peacekeepers~! :} To reiterate: The Peacekeepers are democratically elected representatives of each race. There are three demons, three angels and three humans who are elected every 10 years. They don't all reside in Loom but that's where they meet when they need to discuss issues of grand importance. Think of them as an intergovernmental organisation similar to or part of NATO but global/not restricted by membership. They make decisions either by asking their respective race on the issue and then presenting it in front of the others, or by entering an authentic dialogue where each has their say and an agreement is reached in the end. Three members of each race was considered the optimum because that way agreements can presumably be reached inside the group before they're discussed with the other races. (Chimeras aren't represented because it's still considered that their interests will fall with either of the pre-existing "natural" races.) They had a very important role soon after Judas' War when angels were almost entirely extinct and many Hellions populated Heaven and needed nutrition (humans and angels). After many trade-offs and compromises (and bloodshed) a way was devised to allow each race equal (almost) footing. Demons have a quota allotted, humans and angels are requested to donate blood regularly and hate-crime was dealt with through the strictly monitored and controlled "chain of vendetta" (whereby unsolved murder granted the victimised group the right to kill a member of the offending race, even if they're innocent). After a while things calmed down and murder and assault went down. But the key to that was the omnipresent power of Hazumi, so... Peacekeeper responsibilities include: - Managing racial rights and responsibilities; - Management of the Essence; - Solving cross-racial conflict; - Dealing with extreme cases of (cross-racial) hate-crime; - Preventing the emergence of or dealing with existing terrorism. Their weapons are: - The right to mobilise and command nation-state troops. - The Academy - a semi-independent organisation dealing with many on-the-ground problems. - The Musicians/Wielders - a special task force usually deployed personally by the Peacekeepers or the Academy. - The Black Guard - a special task force dealing exclusively with assassination, eradication and purging. So I was thinking it would be fun to see if we can put some democracy in action to solve a somewhat important upcoming problem. :3 BTW my last IC post was updated to accomodate Andri.
