But, while a severed limb is more "deadly" (as in it needs to be treated very quickly or else it's almost certain to cause death from blood loss), it's WAY easier to treat than advanced malnutrition or even a broken leg. Broken leg kid's probably on a longer road to recovery than Ray, and is actually probably in more pain because Ray's nerves have been cut and he's probably at least in a small amount of shock and can't feel that much. Not trying to rag on you, though. I'm just at the top of my Biology class and I know how this stuff works.
