"So, all we have to do is stop the bad guys from kidnapping the girls." Ryteb grinned, ready to show off the results of his training, "First off we need to bottleneck the assailants, so they have to fight on our terms. Please stand away from the walls people." Standing in the middle of the room, Ryteb performed many gestures in quick succession. People in the know of elemental magic would see that he was using the five basic stances one after the other in succession to write a far more complex spell. A spiderweb of metal began to spread across the window, reinforcing it from attack, and from the slithering sounds in the walls, the same thing was happening there. The door to the room shone golden, as it was turned from wood to metal, preventing anyone from simply trying to bash it down. "That should buy us some time, but it's no means impenetrable. Taka, much as I loathe to admit it, your dark corridor allows you to bend space and move practically instantaneously, so I'd like to ask you to scout out where Chronos is coming from. Mai and V2, I suggest you guys get prepared for when they arrive. I'm going to continue to strengthen the room to make it much harder for them to get in, but I have no idea of their full capabilities." As he said this, he returned to his stances, using his power over the elements to fortify the room with the two girls. As he did this, his mind was cast back to his mental training with Odin.
"Aargh!" Ryteb screamed, as the attempted firaga spell backfired, "Why can't I do this... how am I so weak..." Odin, or at least the remnants of Odin's heart, walked over and patted his young apprentice on the back. Smiling down at his student, he said; "Don't focus on what you can't do, but what you can. Remember, a tower that reaches the heavens is made of thousands of tiny blocks." What I can do? Ryteb thought, All I've been doing for this week has been basic movements. Wait... a tower is built out of many blocks? In quick succession Ryteb used the stances for Lightening, then Fire, and finally Wind. The resulting blast from the attack sent Ryteb flying backwards. That was insane, you could combine the elemental stances to make something like that? "I wasn't planning on teaching you this until you had mastered basic magic." Odin smiled, glad at his student's progress, "But strangely you are more suited to this kind of magic than regular elemental magic. By combining stances, you can weave spells of both stronger power and greater complexity than regular magic. Continue to practice this, and I can show you new stances to augment it."
