[@MechonRaptor] I'd like to note that a Z-Ring is only awarded to those who begin their Island Trials, so receiving the Z-Ring in such a way doesn't work in a traditional sense, though if he has visited Alola before, he could have gotten one then, but never finished all the trials for one reason or another.

On that note, you can get your Crystal, AND Z-Ring on Cobalt Island in the RP, as that place has an Alolan Trial, seeing as most of it's population date back to Alola. So you can simply not start with them, but you'll be able to get all of it at once when you go to Cobalt Island. The Island Trial does not count as a gym or anything, but it is run by the Water Elite 4 member as it's captain. You can go for the trial as late or early as you please.
