Alex couldn’t agree with Samuel’s insight. Love was not reserved for him. Nor was it expected. He wasn’t the heir of the Reinners. He did not require to advance the bloodline. There was no duty to him loving someone. Happiness was a fleeting thing too. A smile yesterday is so easily forgotten. Among the higher courts, a smile is rarely remembered. Alex concluded that strength, power, and knowledge really did trump everything. One required strength to fight. Without it, you’re weak and vulnerable. Power turned into influence. When you can change the outcome simply by your presence, what force could form its equal? Knowledge was a requirement for giving wise council. Alex didn’t really regret his decision to go home for the lessons until he heard about the Unison Form. The very form of power he wanted to master when he first heard about it. No matter what the mystics would say, the Unison Form would be more powerful. He had to go! But before Alex could say anything Lux was already… dancing their way across the tables. When Lux arrived at their table, the boy nearly managed to knock over Alex’s tankard. Only his swift hand managed to save the mead inside. But it definitely annoyed him. Which is face clearly showed as he took another chug from the alcohol. It definitely started to have an effect on him. “That’s an awful lot of titles there. Did you make most of them up or did you steal one or two?” he made a silent remark as Lux rambled off his many titles. Alex had little belief that this jester was authentic. He spoke with an overly complicated tongue. Apparently trying to look ‘amazing’ and ‘mysterious’. The only thing he was doing amazingly, to Alex, was failing. The young Reinner would have kept his head level if Lux just rambled about. But when he made his comment about him being Gabriel with a high voice, he shot up right. The sudden jolt of emotional activity must have transferred via the psychic link to Nimueh. Who woke up right then and jumped near her master. “Did you just…insult… my voice?” His body language said a thousand words. He took it as an offense. Clearly, he wasn’t the only one who got bugged by the shadowy boy. As Alex stood up, so did several other patrons of the bar. Okami was trying to make clear that the guy better toned it down. The fact that Alex was influenced by the booze didn’t help much. Still, he was in Okami’s bar. He could hardly start a fight here, now could he? “How about we take this outside, Lux?”
[@cloudystar], [@Savo], [@Duoya]
