Hey there! So I've seen this thread a few times now, and it's a genre of writing I've never really tried before, but would love to dive into. I'm currently perusing the wiki, but I figured it would be easier to ask here than to look through 3044 pages of OOC: are you still interested in taking on new RPers?
@Legend
I can live without a definite ending, and I'm certainly ready to try and live up to expectations. The indefatigable nature of the RP is sort of what has drawn me to the thread in the first place, in fact.
Its rare that I don't have my phone with me, so thanks to the shorter posts the answer is likely 'most of the time that I'm awake'. I do go to university, and have a job, so longer posts are usually reserved for evenings CST. I keep regular hours and am fairly busy, but I can find time to make posts just about whenever.
Splendid! I'll try to figure out what exactly is going on OOC and who everyone is: this much information is sort of hard to parse. Once I have a firm handle on things, I'll throw out some character ideas, see if any of them fit narrative-wise with what's already in place.
I just need to know where exactly I want to fit into the group. I know I want to make a character who is not blessed with universe-shaking powers, someone an order of magnitude less powerful than the extant cast, but beyond that I don't have much of a plan. Maybe someone with a strong belief in self-determination? Someone who suffers from cognitive dissonance, or someone in the process of questioning their deeply-held belief system? I'll ruminate. Suggestions or pieces of advice are totally welcome, I want to make the game better for everyone.
@Legend
It's been a while since I've had to include my math with an RP. It'll be nice to dust off some of my old textbooks and remember freshman calculus. I'll make sure it's scientifically plausible, though I'm not a STEM major, while also hopefully making something engaging narrative-wise.
@Legend
I'm familiar with Ender's Game, though I never read any of the followup books. Still, even if we allow for superpowers, I suspect I'll have to do a fair share of math to accurately write something with this game's power level. Anyways, I'll add the wikipedia articles on Speaker for the Dead and its ilk to my reading list for this game.
