[@Dusksong] We could keep the sunset and sunrise bonus points, but instead of gaining extra trainer points, you would gain extra creation points. 

My reservation behind starting a collaborative document in order to keep this current system in place would be new players unknowingly messing up. The current system requires a lot of understanding before you know exactly how many points you get for doing what. 

This new system would revolve around new content creation rather than items. I could however do one last tally of everyone's current trainer points. You may then convert those points to creation points at the ".25" rate or simply buy as many items as you would like, a clearance sell if you will.
