It was my Runescape user name when I was a teenager.

I joined once, lost the username, and forgot about it for a while. Then when I joined again I was thinking "Everyone is like 'Bloodslayer' and 'Killknight' or whatever, so I'll be the fucking VillageIdiot"

Dropping an L and adding an X came about because "Villageidiot" and "Vilageidiot" were already taken. Then I played Runescape for a couple of years and got used to using it as an internet name, so it's been my go-to for forums and video games even since.
